Somehow, miraculously, Eddie had not caught on to the fearful look his girlfriends eyes held, she wasn't trying to hide it either, nobody was but hers were different, it was as though she was predicting the outcome of tonight's events and even if Eddie couldn't notice, Nancy certainly did.
She didn't just notice the way her eyes move from Eddie towards Dustin she noticed the way her knuckles turned a ghostly white due to the grip she had on the makeshift spear, or the way she erratically bounced her leg. Her telltale signs of bubbling nerves.
Nancy shifted back around the sight of the trailer park becoming clear the further Steve drove, he did offer Phoebe the wheel once again which she accepted and then her driving duties were cut short when Erica complained she nearly died after a hit to the curb.
"Home sweet home." Eddie muttered under his breath, Phoebe ignored his comment and still focused on the rapid bouncing of her leg.
She felt awful, seeing the house where her best friends fate was held and sending off three kids inside without any knowledge on the outcome of them being there, she prayed they would be safe.
"Hey, Pheebs." A soft whisper broke her from the unbeknownst trance she was in, she looked up at her sister who was kneeling in front of her.
"Sorry... I jus-"
"It's okay. You don't have to tell me, it's okay." Nancy reassured placing a hand over her sisters burning knuckles "The plan needs to start soon, the boys are getting ready. Steve and Robin are waiting for me, we can do this okay? Everything will be fine, we will all make it out of this, we have before."
Phoebe gulped nodding "We have before."
The words weren't a lie yet they partially were, not all of them made it out last time and not all of them made it out this time and the fear of losing more people was growing with each second that passed.
"Let's go."
The two left the RV and headed into the trailer that Phoebe called home, she pushed open the door being met by the familiar warmth and of course the gate. She glared up at it seeing Eddie wobbling on his heel as he waited for the two Wheeler twins to climb through.
"Your up." Nancy smiled, Phoebe grasped onto the rope and began to climb just as she had before her body falling forward and landing with a soft thud, she was instantly picked up by Eddie who held her tightly against his body.
"You love making me wait." He smirked into her neck just as Nancy came down to the other side "All ready?"
