Chapter 15

“Good morning Mom, Justin, James.” Mom just smiled at me and put a plate stocked with pancake drizzled with honey and butter in front of me, while Justin just nodded his head towards me, his mouth full, and James mumbled ‘morning’ while getting his second serving of pancakes.

It’s been three days since Dad left with Nick and some of the pack members, and still there were no trace where my cousin Maria is. Ever since then my twin cousins, Justin and James, were staying here at our house. And ever since that day my Dad left, Xander’s been busy with his training, he’s not even attending his classes, but of course he was excused and Trish takes his lessons and assignments for him. He still stays with me every night though.

A smile was automatically etched on my face, remembering his second night in staying with me; it was the night before Dad will leave. I was busy playing with my phone at my bedroom when he arrived and guess where he entered? He actually entered on my bedroom door, my eyes were ready to pop out in shock, ‘cause I was perfectly sure that Mom and Dad were still at our living room watching an old movie.

He just walked to my bed and settled beside me as if not seeing my shocked face. I looked at him and he chuckled and spilled out why he walked straight from my bedroom door not the window. He explained that Dad knows that he was there in my room the other night and so that day he asked permission if he could stay the night again, but before Dad approved, he threw a few warnings to him, he told me.

But that was not the worst of it, it was the night when Dad left and my two cousins started to stay with Mom and me. They were angry with the fact that Xander was sleeping in my room, even after Mom explained they still won’t approve of it.

They were even more furious when they’d known that Xander still didn’t mark me, they concluded that Xander was ashamed of me, that he just wanted to play with me and left me for other girls. I was hurt when they said that, but I know I can trust my mate. And my heart flattered on what he told my cousins, he told them that he will never be ashamed to show the world that I am his mate, he also said that he first want to prove to me that he was worthy to be my mate before he marks me.

Then before my very eyes, Justin gave my mate a punch on his gut. I was utterly shock, but before I could react my cousins then laid their hands towards my mate and Xander shook it with a smirk on his face. I was all, ‘what was that?’, while Mom just shook her head and went to her room.

When we were inside my room, I asked him what was that all about. Xander just said that, that play with my cousins was something girls won’t understand, and that I should not mind that. But I didn’t rest with that, I was furious at my cousins for hurting my mate, so the following day I woke up early and got a bucket filled with icy cold water and pour it in my two sleeping cousins.

It was so hilarious; they were shouting curses that I wouldn’t like to repeat. And when they saw that I was the culprit they didn’t even asked why I’ve done that, I guess they were expecting something from me from what they’d done to my mate. And I can’t help but smile when I remembered that and since that day my two cousins made sure that they woke up before I do.

“What’s so funny Samantha?” Justin asked while he was picking up my empty plate.

“Do you even have to ask, Justin? If it’s not about the bucket full of ice cold water, it’s about that Xander boy of her.” James said as he filled my glass with milk.
