Chapter 21

“…and I love you so much.”

Do I dare believe him?

Yes, but…

“You love me, but why were you with Sarah, when you were ‘sacrificing’ our relationship to ‘protect me’?” I sound distanced, but who can blame me? I was hurt too much. Even though I knew that deep inside I was happy that he claimed me as his, I still have to make sure.

“I’m with Sarah? No, you know that we were just friends.” He was about to close the distance between us, but I backed down. Maybe back then I’ll just let him kiss me to forget everything because I was so shamelessly in love with him, ok, I still am, but now I need to protect myself from getting hurt again and again and again.

“That’s not what I saw at the cafeteria.” Just remembering that scene makes me wanna break down again. “You were about..to…kiss her.”

“Sammie, love. I will never dare kiss anyone except you, she was just asking me what’s wrong and I won’t tell her and she just pulled my face up so I can look at her in her eyes to tell her everything, but I still didn’t.” He then inhaled deeply and whispered. “I’m not like someone I know.”

“What do you mean like someone you know?”

“You let Macky kiss you.” I watched as his lips turned into a tin line, controlling his anger from rampaging out.

“I never kissed anybody other than you, and I have you to thank about that.” Xander didn’t respond to what I just said; he was still not even looking at me. “Hey,” I reached out and touched his face and closed the distance between us and tentatively touch my lips into his. At first it was a small peck to get some reaction from him, but as our lips touch the fire within me get loose and now it turned out to be one hell of a kiss.

Our lips move in sync with each other, Xander’s response stunned me, it was not just hot, but needy. He was greedy for more, he snaked his arms around my waist and pulled me into his chest not giving any space between us. He plunged in deeper into my mouth that earned him a moan of pleasure from me.

“No one has ever touched my lips like you do.” We are both catching our breath as our foreheads were touching. “And please do remind me to thank Macky for his little drama out there at the backyard that landed me into your arms again.” And a hard earned smile was what I got from him after I said that.

“I love you, Sammie, I really do.” I smiled sweetly at him knowing that he meant every word he said. “Hmmm so what can you say about it?” I creased my forehead in confusion. “It’s like a rule that you have to say it back, right?” My smile turned into a full blown grin.

“You still need to earn it baby.”

“Finally the love birds are up!” As how Dean said, he just announced to everyone that we’re awake. He was beaming at us as we were walking down the stairs to the living room but I think my mate didn’t appreciate it because he was looking dangerously at him.

“Good morning Dean.” I greeted him to make the tension that he didn’t even notice to ease up. He then smiled back at me and based on the sudden tightening of my mate’s hold on me it wasn’t a smart move.

“What are you doing here?!” He growled at him, I automatically went to Xander’s front to prevent him from attacking Dean.

“Hey, what’s happening here?” Max asked as she went to her mate and put her arms securely at him. That made Xander loosen a bit of his hold of me, I think seeing Dean with his mate Max makes my mate think that Dean is not a threat to me.
