Chapter 11

“I’ll be back soon, ok?” Xander kissed my forehead and reassuringly smiled at me. We’re inside his room lying on his bed.

The pack doctor has checked my leg and put a bandage to secure it and for it to completely heal in a few days, Xander carried me upstairs to his room, taking me away from the tensed atmosphere that was felt after Alpha Mathew questioned us being true mates.

“Xander, go. I’ll be alright. I’m just gonna sleep for a while.” I pushed my mate out of the bed while looking at me after he said that he needs to go downstairs and talk to his Dad.

“I’ll wake you up when dinner’s ready?” I smiled and nodded in agreement but I know I will not be able to sleep after what happened.

I watched Xander went out of the room, not really knowing what to feel. Happy, because all my thoughts were wrong, that my mate also wants me. Or sad, that my mate’s father doesn’t want me to be his son’s mate, worst is he is the Alpha, the most influential and authoritative person of the pack.

I thought everything would be fine after what happened inside the woods. But no, it just turned to be much more of a worry, but despite all these I am happy that Xander and I are together now.

I didn’t know how long I was staring at the ceiling thinking of what my mate and his father is talking about when I heard the door crick open and in no time my Mom gave me a big hug.

“Oh sweetheart are you ok? I know I should have listened to your Dad to not let you go inside the woods.” Tears were flowing out of my Mom’s eyes as she told me that.

“Mom I’m fine, my leg will heal in no time.” I reassuringly said to her as I smiled at my Dad who was standing behind Mom.

“But what if they got you, what if Xander and the other guys were too late. No way will I let that Alpha get you!” Mom was now a little hysteric.

“What are you talking about? Who will get me?” I curiously asked as I look at Mom and Dad at the same time.

“I’m talking about….”

“Amy, that’s enough. Our daughter needs to rest.” Dad helped Mom get up and patted me like a child. “We’ll go home after I talk to the Alpha.”

“Dad?” I called out; wanting to get some answers from him on what Mom was talking about awhile ago.

“There are some things you don’t need to know Samantha.” My Dad firmly said.

“She needs to know Jack.” Alpha Mathew let himself inside the room with his wife and my mate behind him. A smile was automatically shown on my face, just seeing his handsome face makes me and my wolf glad.

“Hey.” Xander walk to the other side of the bed.

“Hey.” I smiled as he sat beside me and hold my hand which was under the blanket.

“You know that’s impossible Mathew.” My Dad’s voice got me out of our own little world with my mate. “My daughter cannot be Xander’s mate.” I tensed. Dad? Even you? My mate’s hand tightened around mine.

“Why is it so impossible for me to become Xander’s mate?” I don’t know where I got the courage to ask that question out loud but I think it was my wolf.
