Chapter 8
Good morning baby :) I hope you slept well :*
I just got up from my bed when I saw Macky’s text. I audibly sighed.
Oh no it’s not what you think, of course I said no to him. I told him that I only see him as a friend nothing more, nothing less. But he just answered that maybe later on I would possibly like him, that I should give him a chance.
He was so persistent that I was forced to tell him that I like someone else. He was silent after I said that, he just looked at me for a full minute, took a very deep breath and walk me out of the house back at my party like nothing happened.
I thought he get it that I don’t like to be in any relationship with him except as friends. But before my party ends he approached me again and told me that he would still court me whether I like someone else or not. He wanted to make sure that I will forget that guy that I like and like him instead. I wanted to shout to him that I found my mate that it was impossible for me to like anybody else.
But of course I didn’t do that; it would be a stupid move. I just looked at him and shook my head but it was like he didn’t see my disapproving gesture, he just smiled at me and said his goodbye. Can my life be more complicated as it is now?
I put down my phone back to my side table and went down to the kitchen and grab some breakfast or maybe lunch, it was already twelve noon.
“Good morning, Mom.” There she was cooking something for lunch. I went straight to the fridge and get myself a glass of milk.
“Did you enjoy your party last night?” My Mom asked as I smelled the delicious aroma of chicken.
“Yes Mom of course, it was the best.” I smiled at her. “Thank you.” She smiled back at me and happily went back to cooking.
“Where’s Dad?” It’s Sunday and he should be here just relaxing in the house.
“At the pack house, Alpha Mathew just arrived an hour ago.” Xander, he’s back. My wolf wants to run to the pack house and see her mate. But of course I just pushed her down while I stay calm and disinterested in the outside. “He will just catch up on how the meeting goes and be back for lunch.”I just nodded my head and gulped down my milk.
I then helped Mom preparing for lunch, or not, I suck at cooking. I know I was much more a trouble to her than help but she was always patient with me telling me how to do things right. And just I was preparing the table, putting plates and all, Dad arrived. He looked like he just aged ten years more. He looked stressed and bothered. Did the meeting go wrong?
“Bad news?” Mom went beside Dad and lovingly caressed Dad’s shoulder. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a minute like he was thinking if he should tell us. Mom and I patiently waited for him to speak.
“Rogues have been attacking random packs.” Dad looked at me as he said that. “So we’re increasing security at the boundary of our territory.” Mom and I stayed silent letting Dad tell us more so that he could release the stress he was having even just a little, but he didn’t say more and motioned us to start eating lunch.
“Mom, Dad. Thank you again for that new Mac book.” It was their gift for me for my birthday; I’ve been telling them that I want a new one since like forever.
“You deserved it sweetheart and you thank us enough last night.” Yes, I was jumping in joy last night; I hugged them so tight that Mom even complained that I was crushing her.
“Dad, are you ok?” I asked him ‘cause he didn’t react when I said thank you, yes he looks calm but it was like he was in a very deep thought.
