17 - Looking Into Your Eyes

I have been working in this company for the last month and I am enjoying my time here. I got to travel with my reliable scooter going to my work. It is such a change of atmosphere working as employee. I am learning how this company works. This company is just starting to adapt new technology and I am glad that I am familiar with the system that they are going to use.

This past few weeks they have been busy preparing for a collaboration from an investment company from Manila. Accordingly this will be big investment and will be allocated for the enhancement and building of the resort hotel in the west coast. I volunteered myself to be part of the team to be placed in the resort hotel since it just very near to my house. That would save me a lot from spending with gas and I could home during lunch break.

I am trying to minimize my consumption as I want to save. My salary is not even half of what I was earning before but with the simple lifestyle here, it is more than enough to cover my modest life and I can even save some. I love staying in my house as it proves to be pleasant and investing in solar panel & wind turbine shows that I can generate enough electricity to use for my consumption.

I went to work early as the team of investor is coming for site visit. I am the team leader to oversee that the accommodation and needs of the guest are fulfilled. I received a distress call from one the staff saying that the lagoon was filled with slimy seaweeds. I went to inspect it and call someone from the maintenance to do it.

"Sir Zander, you need to check the lagoon as it is filled with seaweeds." One of the staff told me. "They have cleaned it up already last night, but strong current and high tide swept it up back again."

"Relax, it's nature course. Its not your fault," I reassured her. "Call someone from maintenance to clean this before the guest will tour."

"Yes Sir." She replied to me and left me alone.

I was overlooking the lagoon and wondering if it is the Chandler Company who wants to invest in this resort hotel and if its them then I'll be seeing Noelle and his boyfriend more often. I roam around my eyes and catch glimpse of the guest in second and my heart split into pieces when I saw Hunter hug Noelle from the back. I hope Noelle didn't see me and I ran out from there. I am still affected though how much I tried to forget him. How odd is my luck that I would them being lovey dovey.

I radioed my instructions to the maintenance, and I asked them to clean the lagoon. I went to the kitchen to check if lunch preparation is done. Lunch will serve as buffet at the big gazebo near the lagoon. It is one of the favorite spot of visitors in the resort that's why it is being showcased.

I skipped lunch with the guest and asked permission to have my lunch break outside. I took the time to refresh my thoughts. I need to gather my thoughts as I will be the one to talk about the company. If only I know that I would be feeling like this, I shouldn't have volunteered to be assigned here. My legs and arms are now restless, and I feel faint. After my break I went back to employee quarter and called Shirley.

"Hey Shirley, what's up?" I said to her.

"Dude where are you now? I haven't heard from you since the event." She replied to me.

"I am away for now Shirley," I'm trying so hard to ask her if she is part of the planning team of chandler comp. "Ahhmm Shirley, are you part of the planning team of Chandler's investment in a resort hotel in Mindanao?"

"How did you know that?" she replied happily. "Finally I am heading a project and we are now at the resort."

"I know and I saw Noelle with Hunter," I sadly told her.

"Yeah, sorry dude about that.... What you are here????" She shouted. "Bullshit you jerk, where are you?"

I can see her looking around from where I am hiding. She is craning her head trying to see if she can catch a glimpse of me somewhere. I want to laugh how funny she look like right now.
