4 - Revelations

I can't believed what my mom told me and who could be his first love? He is such an asshole, how can he do that to me while being in love with somebody else. How cunning he can be just to gain my family's trust? Can't they see that they are being manipulated by this person. I was in deep thought as I drive back to my condo.

I stayed for the night with my mom and she gave me a lot of food stuff to stock up for my comsumption. My mom is some kind of afraid for me to be hungry, I wonder what would she feel if she see me making my meals. One thing I mastered when I was staying at share house was making my own meals.

With twelve hours difference, it is midnight now in New York but I know Hunter, my boyfriend is still awake. So I video call him just to say hello. I always fall for that tall guy with deep seated eyes. Hunter looks has great similarity with Zander. It might be the reason why I willingly dated him way back in college but he has great personality. Both filipino, we share same penchant with foods and activities. Courtship didn't take long for us, we dated as boyfriend till I finished my MBA and decided to be engage before going back to the Philippines.

Hunter has been patient with me all throughout our relationship. He respected my wishes to limit our intimacy to hugs and kisses. In our four years of relationship we haven't done more than what I want in our relationship and I admired Hunter for being so patient, for willingly going along with my imposed restriction.

I can't fully give myself to Hunter, I still have my inhibitions. I put on brave facade but deep inside I'm still hurting. Five years is a long time to get over my stupid feeling but then this feelings lingers. Though how much I hate Zander, I can't deny to myself that deep inside I still love him. All throughout my life, I only crave for him. He still has that effect on me. I'm so disgusted with myself for being such a looser. I have to think on how much he have played with my heart, how much he have crushed my soul.

As Hunter pick my call, I can't help but smile and admire his dediction with work. He promised to follow me here in the Philippines to help me manage our company. He will be coming in as a consultant working beside me.

"Hi babe," Hunter greeted me. I can see the skyline of Manhattan from the glass wall on his backdrop. I can hear rustling of paper at the background. They are still in the office at this time. He is trying to finished all of his pending job before coming over.

"Hey baby, I miss you so much" I greeted him back, "Say hello to Aimee, its almost midnight there and still in the office. Dont tire out yourself too much"

I can here Aimee greeted at the background. Aimee has been Hunter's secretary since he started working, she has been loyal with her job and she does her job well.

"Few more days babe and we will be there with you." Hunter told me but I was startled with the 'we'. Who is coming with him?

Hunter sighed when he saw me with my confused face.

"Aimee is coming with me. She wants to see our homeland and she is due for vacation anyway." He clarified with me.

"Oh that will be fun babe" I happily agreed with him but at the back of my mind there is something that didn't add up but I just disregarded it. "Just hurry up and finish your job there so we can be together. I miss you so much babe."

"I miss you too baby." Hunter said. "I can't wait to be with you again."

After some bantering I bid farewell to have my lunch in a cafe in the building. This condominium has a lot amenities offered to its residents and it is also nearby some important establishment. Our company is located in Paseo de Roxas and having a condo nearby is a plus point for me. I wont have reason to be late going to the office.

I called up my brother to ask him to accompany me in going to the office. I need him to introduce me to the board members and employees.

"Hi Connor, can we meet this afternoon?" I ask my brother hurriedly. I know he is in Pampanga right now and if he will try to meet me for sure he will arrive early in the evening already.

"Oh my princess, you finally remember you have a brother," Connor sulkily answered me. For an adult guy my brother is still so clingy to me, treating me like a baby still.

"Shut up Connor, of course I know I have an jerk of a brother," I retorted to him. You are r jerk Connor for being friend with Zander up to now.

"What do I owe an honor to be with you this afternoon my princess?" Connor teased me as always like before.

"I need your help. I can't discuss it over the phone, its to complicated. Lets meet near my condo later like 5pm so we can have dinner together," I prayed that he will agree to meet me later on.

"Oh sure princess, see you later. Just pm me your location. See you at 5pm. I have company with me, I'll let you meet someone." Connor replied to me.

"Oh who could that be bro," I happily asked him, finally my brother is showing interest with other person.

"For me to know for you to find out later. See you later princess" but before he cut his call I heard Zander's booming voice in the background, who's on the phone, asshole,  I hope he wouldn't tag along with Connor later on.

It's 2pm and still got 3hours to spare before my brother arrives, so I went back to my unit to prepare. I can't seem to find the right cothes to put on. What the heck I'm only meeting my brother but I have emptied my closet in choosing what to wear later. Get a grip Noelle, Zander might not be tagging along with Connor so why are you so jittery in choosing what to wear. I had a long bath and slathered my skin with moisturizer. I set my short hair as if blown by sea breeze. I put on a no make up make up just to keep my face free from any unwanted fritz.

I settled with flowy blouse mid tigh and ripped skinny jeans with strap on wedge sandals. Oh my little toes are so damn nice peeping in my sandals. I unbutton the two top button of my blouse showing my milky white skin on my chest. I have the intention to intimidate Zander if ever he will tag along with Connor. I look at myself in the mirror and I'm satisfied on how I look. Its 450pm and its time to let the ball rolling. Then my phone ring.

"Hello princess," Connor called me, "We are here already, get your lazy bum over here."

"Yes sir, I'm on my way now." I replied.

I have no intention to arrive ahead of them. I put on my sunnies and walk towards the cafe. I was in for a surprise when I saw zander did really tag along with my brother and there is a cutie little lady that clings on my brother's arm. Zander is wearing a black muscle shirt with his cargo pants.

I waltz toward them and reminding myself to be calm. Calm down Noelle, you need favor from your brother. Dont let your mouth run away with you. I kept on chanting this mantra in my head as I approach them. As I was about to take my seat, Zander pulled out a chair for me, so I gladly sit on it.

"Thanks." I said.

"So princess let me introduce to you to my special person, Jane this is my brother Noelle, our princess. Noelle this is Jane my girlfriend" Connor nervously introduce his girlfriend to me.

"Hi there jane, I'm glad that my brother has finally had someone special with him." I greeted Connor's girlfriend. "I hope this asshole is treating you well." I smirked to my brother.

"Thats off princess" Connor reprimanded me but I just laugh at him.

We had coffee as we catch up with each other. I learned that Jane is the farm assistant and act also as Connor secretary. Zander tries to talk to me but I kept on avoiding him. So I finally told my my brother my intention.

'Hey Connor come with me on Monday to the office. I know Monday is board meeting, can you introduce me?" I asked him.

"But why me?" Connor asked me with disbelief. "Zander is the right person to do that. He is the VP now and he presides the board meetings"

"What?" I shriek loudly.
