Chapter 7: Old Friends, New Enemies

-Chase-
"Hey, did I come at a bad time?"

I turn to look at who he was. He's a tall German shepherd, with brown eyes, dark coloring, but looks very familiar.

"M...MAX! No come on in." I gave him a bro-hug. "It's been forever dude."

"Yeah, I contacted your mom to see where you were. She said I'd find you in here."

"So what's been up for the last few years?"

"Nothing much. Football season going well for you?"

"Yeah it has. You being you, I assume you have that special someone in your life?" I nudge him.

"Yeah, he is really sweet."

"I honestly expected you to be that kind of guy always having a girl on his lap. I never thought you'd go both ways."

"Eh, people change. He was really sweet to me. Over time I developed feelings for him and on his birthday, I asked him out."

"I bet you made his day."

"Oh yeah, completely. He was in tears because he was so happy."

"Is he here with you?"

"Yeah. He's at the vending machine. So who's this little guy? A friend of yours?"

"Try boyfriend."

"So you and I both, huh?" He laughed. "Even though, I never saw you as a ladies man either."

"You knew I was normally shy. I fell for Luke pretty much for the same reasons you fell for yours. He is really sweet. You also gotta admit, he's pretty damn cute."

He looks over at Luke. "Yeah, I guess he is."

A wolf, a little smaller than Max comes into the room and hides himself behind the bigger German shepherd.

"Hey babe. Chase, meet Andrew."

"Nice to meet you, Andrew."

"H-hi," he said.

"Aww, Andy. There's no need to be shy around Chase. Chase is an old buddy of mine."

He chuckled nervously. "Sorry. I am REALLY shy around new people."

"I understand completely," I reply, "I'm not known for talking to new people."

"Yeah, I remember when we first met," Max said, "I accidentally ran into you as you were moving in."

"You got me to join the football team and you see where that's taken me," I laugh, "High school was fun."

"We got into so much trouble," he and I laughed. Andrew was just standing there, nervously.

"So how did you two meet?" I asked.

"I ran into him one day during school," Andrew said.

"After that, we talked a little bit and hung out. But what really set it off was when I saw Andrew getting beat up by a group of people."

"I had to go to the hospital for that," he added.

"I decided to keep the guy by my side. Sure enough, I started to feel different towards him. What happened from there, you know."

"That's adorable," I said.

"So how about you and him?" Max asked.

"He and I are roommates first off. It was more of 'from the start' type thing. I was stupid for trying to deny those feelings. I ended up finding my first girlfriend. Then, she went and cheated on me. The one who stuck by my side, was the guy right on that bed, Luke."
