Chapter 31: A Happy Birthday

I woke up this morning a bit more tired than usual. Something else wasn't right. Where's Chase? I got up and decided to look for him. I found a note.

Luke,
I wanted to do something special for you for your birthday, but I never checked to see if I had everything needed and, of course, I didn't. If you find this and I'm not back yet, I should return soon. I've gone to the store. You are gonna be treated like you deserve, my king. XOXO

Aww, how sweet! I can't believe he remembered. How did I get him? Am I really his king? Reading this over and over makes me blush wildly. I've never been treated as well as Chase has treated me. I don't deserve it.

Before you overload the comments saying how Chase and I are perfect for each other, I've just never had anything to appreciate beside Kristina and her family. They cared for me and I couldn't help but feel guilty for it. I'm just happy now I have Chase. He doesn't need to go out of his way for me. It just doesn't feel right. I feel like I owe him so much but I could never repay him.

Chase returns and he is immediately greeted by a hug and a huge kiss from who else? I grab some of the bags for him and set it in the kitchen.

"Happy birthday to the cutest little wolfie on the planet." He ruffles my headfur and I blush.

"I'm not THAT cute." I pout.

"You just admitted you are cute though," he giggles.

"Yeah because if I say I'm ugly, which I really am, you'll make sure I feel cute."

"Because you are. You are golden in my eyes. Every part of you is built in perfection. I've been blessed to have a cutie such as yourself in my life."

I blush a deep red and chuckle a little. "You make me the happiest wolf in existence." I hug him and he hugs me back. We then put our muzzles together and share a lovers kiss. Both of our tails find their way and wrap around each other as I completely melt in the kiss. We pull away moments later, both blushing. Chase smiles and heads back into the kitchen.

I head into the bathroom to freshen up only to have Mr. Sneaky Paws sneak up and hug me from behind, causing me to jump.

"What would the cutie like to have for breakfast?" Chase asked as he kissed my cheek.

"Surprise me." I chuckle. He let's go and heads back into the kitchen. It then, occurred to me that I don't have a job. I decide to go online and see if anyone is either hiring or taking internships. I want to do something around sports when I graduate. Maybe I could be an athletic trainer for the NFFL? Or Chase's agent? We all know his furry ass is going to the NFFL. There's no way he won't get drafted. He's too good to pass up. My tail starts to wag at our future together.

Ok, snap back to reality. I don't have any clue even if we will remain together, but that kiss at Christmas dinner though. His family saw it and he didn't care. It was a true, genuine, real, really, REALLY amazing kiss. I could feel he meant every second of that kiss.

I start to smell.... OH MY GOD!!!! BACON!!!!!! I sniff again. Bacon.... Sausages.... Hmmm.... Oooooo PANCAKES!!!!!! I quickly rush into the kitchen, causing Chase to jump a bit. He then calms down a little.

"Calm down, babe. It's almost ready."
I go to him and give him a quick peck on the cheek before sitting down at the table.

As if on cue. My phone goes off and it's Kristina. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BESTEST FRIEND IN THE WORLD!!" She shouts. I move the phone away from my ear, almost dropping it.
