Chapter 29: Jake and Austin's Dinner Date pt. 2: The Date Itself
-Austin-
DAMMIT! WHY DO I HAVE TO SOUND SO CONFIDENT?! Ok, so I have absolutely NOTHING planned for tonight. I don't even know why I said I did. I have to think of something quick. As I run through my mind, trying to find possible ideas on what to do, I try to give Jake a reassuring smile, like I knew what I was doing.
Well, I'm an idiot. "Hey, what exactly do you have planned? I had already thought of something." Jake said to me as he hugged me.
"Well, what exactly did you have planned? Maybe we had the same idea."
"Well, I was planning on going to Mason's BBQ for dinner and maybe we could come back and catch a movie?"
I kissed his nose. "That's absolutely perfect. I could go for some barbecue."
Jake chuckles that cute chuckle he has and hugs me tightly. "Oh hey Austin. Can I tell you something?"
"Yeah of course. You can tell me anything. What's up?"
"Remember that day, when you saved me from falling to my death? And how you thought I'd hate you for your wings?"
"I'm listening. Continue." I say with a nod, remembering that day and also curious as to what he has to say.
"For the longest time, I feared I was the only one." He said as he took off shit shirt and reached for a zipper in his fur. "But after meeting you, not only did I fall for you, but I also knew that I wasn't alone." He took off his fur vest and revealed two wings, exactly like his fur color, and dragon, like mine.
"Wow." That's all I can say. His wings are absolutely beautiful. They are far better than mine. "Wait, why didn't you say anything before?"
"I guess I'm more sensitive than you when it came to being picked on for it." He puts the fur vest back on. "Also your wings are much cooler."
"Are you kidding me? Yours puts mine to shame." He blushes at that remark.
"What? Those useless things? I've never taken flight before."
"What's the point of having them if you aren't gonna want to have a little fun with them? Come on, flying is fun."
"I know. But I enjoy it more when you carry me. I feel safe with you."
I kissed his forehead, then his lips, which he kissed mine back. "You really are the cutest thing." I said as i ruffled my boyfriend's headfur, which has really gotten long, at least, from a guy standpoint.
"How about we go get dinner?" Jake asked me.
I look over at the clock. It was around that point to get dinner. "Sure, on one condition." I smirk.
"What's that?" He said rather hesitantly. He knew I was planning something, and I was.
"We both fly there. And I'm not carrying you."
He blushes. "B-but. I don't know how to use my wings."
"It's ok. I can teach you." My smirk changes into a warming and reassuring smile.
He nods and takes off his fur-vest and let's his wings show. I hold out my paw for him and he takes it almost immediately. I take him out back and show him a few stretches for the wings.
"You want to keep your muscles loose in case you're in midair and you get a cramp." I say to jake as a teacher would say to a student. I do the stretches and help jake move his wings.
"Sorry. I've kept these things hidden from everyone for 6 years. It was the laughing stock throughout school." He said, rather disappointedly, and I saw his ears dropping.
