Chapter 21: Simba

-Simba-
Just for the record, I do NOT... NOT have a crush on Luke. I'm STRAIGHT! S. T. R. A. I. G. H. T. I do care for Luke, I won't deny, but I felt the need to come out and say that.

I have my reasons to why I want to protect Luke when Chase isn't there for him. I don't have to protect someone just because I have a crush on them. The reason why I want to protect Luke dates back all the way in high school.

Back in high school, Chase was fairly quiet around strangers. Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that we were on the football team, I don't think he would have ever talked to me.

Chase hit a rough patch in his life, you know, with the death of his brother and my bitch of a girlfriend not helping the cause. I felt bad for the guy. He couldn't get a girlfriend and I could see why he didn't want one or bothered trying.

The girls at the high school, 90% of them were whores, only in the relationships to see how much dick they can get. It was really really stupid. Always fooling the guys to giving them what they want.

I'll admit, I was one of the stupid guys. I was girl crazy, up until they wanted sex. That's when I back off of dating for a while, up until I met Kristina actually.

Well, all you guys know Chase, Max and I met during football. Let me take you through the events that led up to it. I'll also tell you why I want to help Chase as much as I can.

It was summer vacation leading up to our freshman year of high school. Our coach had workouts and conditioning for us to get in better shape for practice and before the season started.

I was nervous as hell. I didn't know anyone, and we would be working out with the older guys, who've been doing this for a while. The thought alone made me shiver just a bit.

I walked in, not sure of what's going on. Every fur was just hanging around, talking. I didn't know which rack to join. I found one and the rack had two other guys who seemed just as nervous as I was.

"Hey, is it alright if I workout with you guys?" I asked.

"Umm, yeah, sure," the husky replied, looking at the German shepherd with him.

"Yeah, I don't see a problem with it," he said.

So I joined their group. "I'm Simba, by the way."

"Hey Simba, I'm Max and this is Chase," the shepherd said. The husky, Chase just waved.

There was another guy who joined us, some fur who knew what he was doing. He showed us what we were doing. That was good, because neither one of us had a clue as to what the hell was going on.

I was surprised. He lifted a ton more weight than Max, Chase or myself.

"Hey, if you guys keep working, you'll get here. This is my last year here. You guys may pass me," he told us as we were working out.

Wow, he was nice and encouraging. Well, the team looks out for each other, I guess.

Speaking of encouragement, we crowded around one guy who was about to attempt to bench 405 pounds. I was already impressed he can bench over 300 as it is. I'm stuck here at 135, Chase at 150, and Max at 160. Yeah, they've done this longer than me. I honestly felt weak, up until I found some furs doing less than me.

The workout lasted around an hour. Then, we put on some cleats and went out to the field. I was a dumbass and forgot my cleats. Chase gave me his extra pair.

I assumed this was conditioning, and let me tell you, IT WAS TIRING. I have never been so out of breath before. Yeah yeah, total 'that's what she said moment,' you perverts seriously need to grow up.
