CHAPTER 18

New project?

Lynx:

Since the end of the year was coming we were tasked to do a final project on whatever topic we chose, and I was put in a group with Jack and Amber. Since we had to meet up and do our project we decided to switch between houses and we agreed to rotate houses with Amber, me, and Jack, since Amber's house was first after school I immediately headed to her house. Recently my dad had been spending time with me so it had become common for him to drive me home or to pick me up, so yeah bonding time. When we finally got there I hopped off the car and waved goodbye and so, I headed into her house with a little gift.

Amber:

Since my parents were out on a trip for their anniversary, my grandma had come to take care of me and my little sister, so we would not be on our own. The group meeting went pretty relaxed and surprisingly Lynx was really nice to Jack and even gave him some sweets so I guess she was trying to redeem herself so we would be friends again. When we were finished for the day we chose to take a break and Jack's parents came to pick him up so now it was just me and Lynx and well it was a little awkward, to say the least.

Lynx:

Well, I have never been more uncomfortable in my whole life, I had never been this nervous, and I hated it. With an excuse to finish some work I was left alone and I did not have time to rest because good old Emily happened to want to talk to me and I did not want to. As she sat on the couch she said:

Emily: So dear are you new in town?

Me: Not really

Emily: Oh that's nice, do you have any family here?

Me: Not really just me and my dad

Emily: That's odd, don't you have any family around

Me: Not that I know of

Emily: You have a unusual name don't you?

Me: I guess I do

Emily: So what do your parents work at?

Me: My dad works at a company

Emily: Oh really? What happened to you mother?
Me: She passed away

Emily: I am so sorry dear!, but what happened to her?

Me: I don't really want to talk about that

Emily then proceeded to ask questions too personal for a just a friend of her grandaughter.
