CHAPTER 31

Lynx:

Lucca Viatto had been on his own for a long time, before he met my mother he was a man that knew every bar and nightclub in the city. His family had shunned him into the human world because of an alcohol-influenced episode that caused a very brutal slaughter in a mental hospital that was caused because he messed with the people's emotions so strongly that they attacked each other until none remained.

With only his last name he was left to fend for his own in the rather depressing human world. However, there was some hope left for him, he learned of his mistake and managed to gain enough forgiveness from the Viatto family; which chose to grant him his blocked powers back. Lucca's life after that only had one constant variable, alcohol, he of course was not alone and he got his lifetime drinking buddies.

The party life came to an abrupt end when my father caught the eye of a fuchsia-haired witch that enamored him enough that he completely quit his habit and he dedicated himself completely to her. My parents had a sweet and passionate love that made them feel on top of the world.

As soon as my mother found out she was pregnant she immediately told my father about the happy news. My father was especially fond of little baby me as soon as he knew I was in my mother's belly, no matter how much my mother would complain about the overprotectiveness he was very determined on making his daughter's life as perfect as he could.

The early years of my life were a dream come true, we lived in a small little cabin in the very middle of the woods that was high enough to provide a beautiful view of the mountains above us. All was well until the hunt for supernatural beings started, no one was safe in the slaughter; even my family. My grandparents offered shelter from the hunters but according to my father we were perfectly well protected and nothing would happen to us.

What happened is history and what followed were years of rebounding into the old booze as a coping reaction to deal with the loss of my mother. My father chose to leave me behind originally as a rash decision that he thought he was going to take back. Time passed and the intention to raise me himself was becoming even less intense, however, he held himself as a man of honor and he chose to honor what he had promised to do.

At the start everything was confusing and I was still processing the information I was practically forced to learn, but then the anger and resentment were the main emotions towards my neglecting father. No amount of apologies and bribes were going to help me forgive him, the tension between us caused him great despair and made his old habits come again. His addiction was hidden from me, but I was no fool and eventually noticed the glass bottles piling up on the kitchen counter.

Lucca:
My face felt warm and I was laughing uncontrollably, the two guys at my left and right were more or less the same, we had finished 8 wine bottles and we were currently halfway through a whiskey bottle. My senses were messed up as I saw double and knocked over 3 chairs as I stood up to wave goodbye to my two drinking buddies who decided to head back home, as soon as the gates closed I headed back to my room to try to take a bath to sober up so Lynx wouldn't see me in such a pathetic state.

As I did my best effort to remember what the way was I caught a glimpse of white lace that was very familiar to me, in what I thought was a very fast sprint I ran in the direction that the fabric came from. Everything was spinning as I tried to walk, and things only got worse as I tried to involve flying into the mixture, what my feat got me was the lovely taste of grass and dirt.

As I had my nap on the ground the creaking sound of the main gates caught my attention, whoever was opening them was not aware of the tiny little contraption that held the door still to stop it from swinging open as harshly, this tiny detail was enough to let me know that the person opening the gate was not remotely my daughter.

Amber

Whoever owned the clothes I was wearing had not been around for a long time, the closet I had opened was covered in dust and spider webs, and the gorgeous embroidered dress was there; not having a trace of time in it with the white fabric looking brand new. I could not resist running my hand through the fabric to check the softness of the dress, the thing practically screamed at me to try it on, and so I did.

The dress was light and flowy, just perfect enough to fit my waist and chest rather comfortably. After doing enough twirls in the dress I decided to look around the closet and see what else the mystery closet had to offer. Heavy jewelry, a vast amount of golden accessories, and a whole lot of trinkets that did not have the same protection from time as the dress had.

Just as fast as I started enjoying the house I found myself with the resolve to leave the Viatto residence. The golden gates were opened wide, and they creaked wide open, almost welcoming me to the outside world. As fast as they opened the gates closed, and the cause of that was the blue-haired man that was directly staring at me, almost looking into my very soul. Whoever was standing in front of me was not Lucca Viatto, the creature before me was one of beauty and grace but also of extreme power that followed danger.

I could barely gasp as I was thrown into the ground and choked with an unbreakable grip, not only was the grip tightening but my stomach was burning where the symbols were drawn, Luca's eyes were filled with anger and grief, they shone menacing green that was probably going to be the last thing I ever saw because I was about to faint. I took my last desperate breath as the hand choking me was slapped away violently,

"What the actual hell dad!", said Lynx as she shook her very drunk dad's shoulders, who mumbled gibberish and then proceeded to turn the slightly warm mark into an agonizing burn that made me scream in pain; the pain was unbearable as Lynx practically jumped to help me. I could only see Lynx'x back as she turned toward her father, I could see nothing but a blur of screams and a loud thump that I wasn't able to recognize where it came from. The agonizing pain came to an end as my vision cleared as I was being carried by what my forced position led me to see as fuchsia hair and a very worried expression from Lynx.

Lynx:

Whatever I had done to my father kept him completely unconscious and still. His pulse was steady but no amount of magic and punches was getting the man to awake, my determination turned to panic as my mind replayed what I had done to my father.

Anger had overtaken me completely as I mercilessly choked my own father to death, I could feel him resisting with all he had, and with the bruises on his neck healing constantly I was aware that I was bound to get thrown away, feeling the almost deadly warmth that is angel magic near me, I screamed as I pushed every ounce of strength and magic I had in me into knocking out my father, ignoring the constricting wings that were wrapped around me in an attempt to stop me. With his last ounce of strength, my father finally was still, and I immediately ran to Amber, carrying her in my arms.

I had wrapped my arms around my legs as I cried loudly at my father's body, he was still not moving and I did not have the slightest idea whether he was dead or alive, but I cried nevertheless and hoped that no one would see me in such a state.
