Chapter 5: Ceremony

CHAPTER-5

*At the Ceremonial grounds*

Natsu and the others were restless as they waited for the women to arrive at the grounds. Natsu thought what is taking those women so much time? They get angry if we arrive late, don't they. ARRRGHHH. " When will they come or did they decide to abolish the ceremony?" questioned Bixslow, annoyed.

" I am sure they will arrive soon. Be patient Bixslow." said Romeo. Just as he said that they all heard the hoofbeats of horses on the ground and turned around to see the Imagination's Royal entourage arriving. One thought went through all their heads. Finally they arrived.

All of them got off their respective horses. Bixslow was astounded by the variety of high breed horses they had. They were all wearing the same war gear outlined in the gold of Imagination. They were beautiful as the angels themselves but that is the only good quality they had. " Welcome, we thought you had given up on the ceremony." Natsu said sarcastically.

" Why, we would never do that" Lucy replied with mock hurt. All the women behind her giggled silently along with Lucy.

" Now Let's not get into a fight here, the ceremony hasn't even started," said Gajeel and Levy at the same time. Then they both glared at each other and turned away.

" Let us begin," said the two elders on both sides. Then the royal family along with their elders made their way to the altar. Both the Royal families came to sign the truce scroll that would signify another 10 years of peace.

Lucy thought I miss my mother so much . If only she was here she would know what was the right thing to do and sign the scroll. Lucy passed the scroll to Natsu as he signed and looked at her questioningly. " What are you looking at, Your Majesty?" asked Lucy, feeling self conscious.

" Nothing, just that there are tears falling from your eyes" answered Natsu pointing at Lucy's eyes. Lucy wiped her eyes realizing that she was crying.

" Ah! Sorry it must be the dust" Lucy replied casually. Natsu nodded his head warily. They both turned around from each other and went away.

Lucy and Natsu announced " Let the ceremonial festivities begin." Everyone made their way to the banquet cautiously to avoid mixing with the opposite gender.

" Lucy, Are you feeling okay?" questioned Wendy looking at her sister with worriedness.

" Yes Wendy, go enjoy the ceremony" Lucy replied back fondly. Lucy watched as her sister nodded and walked towards the girls who were trying to stop Erza from eating all the cakes on the banquet table. Lucy laughed at her friend's behavior and went to talk with the elder.

*At the Banquet table*

" Erza leave some cake for the others. They would want to eat too" scolded Mira and tried to take away the plate from her.The others watched Mira struggle with Erza. Just then Jellal walked up to them.

" Pssh! I should have guessed that all women were greedy and had a sweet tooth" Jellal teased Erza.

" Shut it Tattoo face" Erza retorted back as she ate another slice of cake.

" What did you just call me?" Jellal asked, balling up his fists to hit her. Laxus and Mira saw this and intervened before things could get ugly.

Laxus told Mira "Tell your friend to keep her comments to herself."

" She would have if it weren't that idiot" Mira remarked pointing to Jellal who was glaring daggers at Erza.

" Guys, Stop it, Let's go somewhere else," said Juvia, pulling the girls .Gray came up to the small group that had formed.

He went up to the boys and said " Don't make a scene, Everyone is watching" gesturing at the crowd.

Lucy and Natsu along with their siblings walked up to them. At that moment they all heard a sound that was all too familiar. The hoofbeats of thousands of horses running.
