Chapter 15: Spell Book

CHAPTER-15

" Natsu! How could you have seen it on him?" exclaimed Bixslow. Lucy went up to Natsu and pulled out the chain that was hidden underneath the robe. Everyone gasped as they saw the missing part of the jewel hanging from it.

" Natsu, why do you have that?" asked Laxus. " I don't know why or how he has this but all I know is that I saw it on him during the night in the tent" said Lucy accusingly.

" So he had it before the alliance" assumed Erza. " Are you accusing us of plotting a war?" barked Jellal. " I didn't say anything but you seem to agree though" yelled back Erza.

" Stop!" ordered Natsu. Everyone turned to look at him alarmed by his sudden outburst. " We were not planning a war. I had the jewel before I came back to the kingdom" answered Natsu.

" What do you mean 'before' you came to the kingdom?" asked Juvia. " As the rumors claim I was raised by dragons just like Princess Wendy, there is a reason for that too" replied Natsu.

" Me and my father were attacked when I was just seven years old by Zeref. I got this piece of jewel from him and kept it with me as a clue to find him one day." said Natsu.

" Then why didn't you say anything when you saw the jewel?" asked Gajeel. " I'm sorry but this was the only clue to my father's death," said Natsu.

All of them looked at him with pity but turned away to look back at the book. But Lucy still looked at him, feeling guilty for reminding him of his past.

She saw a single tear fall down from his eyes and involuntarily she reached up and lightly wiped the tear off his face. He turned his head slowly to look at her surprised by her action. They both smiled at each other and went to join the others.

" Well now we have the jewel but what do we do with it?" asked a confused Wendy. " For starters we could try to attach the two pieces together," suggested Romeo.

Natsu removed the jewel and gave it to Lisanna and she joined them together. " Well now what?" asked Lisanna. " Hmmm.... Give me that jewel Lis" asked Mira.

Lis handed over the jewel to Mira. Mira looked back and forth between the jewel and the ray of sunlight coming into the room. Mira went up to the sunlight and put the jewel under it.

They were all surprised to see the color of the light to be red instead of blue. "Levy, bring the book over here please" asked Mira.

Levy brought the book under the light coming out of the jewel. They all looked in awe as text started appearing in the book.

Levy started to flip through the book from the middle to see if there's anything there while the rest of them looked over her shoulder.

They figured out that the spells seem to be arranged in the recently used type of order and they also had a hard time understanding as it was written in the ancient language.

Suddenly, Juvia said " stop". They all turned to look at her for an explanation. She looked up from the book and said " I think this is a mind controlling spell" pointing to the first page of the book.
