Chapter 14: The Archive

CHAPTER-14

The ground beneath the altar opened and an endless flight of stairs leading into the underground. " Oh my Mavis, Do we have to go inside that opening?" squeaked Wendy.

" I am afraid so, Wendy" comforted Mira as she peered into the opening. " Let's go guys. We only have 4 days until the deadline" exclaimed Lisanna.

They all made their way down the stairs. " Mmmm...Natsu" asked Lucy. " What is it?" answered Natsu. " Can you let go of my hand now?" replied Lucy, pointing at their still intertwined hands.

" Huh! Sorry" Natsu exclaimed as he blushed while removing his hand. Lucy said" No worries" as she made her way to the front of the line.At last after what seemed like hours they reached the end of the stairs. " WOW!" exclaimed everyone as they looked around the massive library.

" I think I am in heaven" exaggerated Levy as she squealed over all the books there were. The girls looked at her and just laughed at her excitement.

" Listen up everyone" called Laxus." Since we have little time left, we should start searching for any books on Zeref or Mavis to help us find a weakness" he continued.

Everyone nodded and went their separate ways to search. Not even a minute had passed when they all heard a crash. They all ran over to see Juvia in Gray's arms and a fire torch knocked over.

" Mmm what happened here?" Erza questioned. Before they could answer a part of the shelf split open. " Juvia thanks to your clumsiness, I think we found a secret compartment in the library" exclaimed Mira.

Juvia smiled half heartedly and came out of Gray's arms. " Thank you for catching me Gray," said Juvia. " Oh no problem" Gray replied back.

" Now let's see what's in there..." said Bixslow as he put his hand inside the opening and rummaged around. " Ah! I think I found something" Bixslow exclaimed and brought out a book.

" A book? Why would they hide a book in a library?" asked a confused Jellal. " I don't think that is any old book, But rather the one that is in the legend of Mavis's death" suggested Romeo.

" You mean the spell book? It actually exists" asked Laxus. " Why wouldn't it when Zeref itself is alive" Romeo replied back." We will know when we open the book," said Gajeel as he took the book from Bixslow and opened it.

When he opened the book all the pages were blank. " Huh! They are all blank." Gajeel exclaimed. " What really? Let me see that" said Levy as she took the book from him.

" He is right, the pages are all blank," said Levy. " Wait, Let me see if anything else is inside there," said Lisanna. She put her hand inside the opening and rummaged around to see if anything else was there.

" I found something else," exclaimed Lis. " What is it?" asked Jellal. " It looks like a broken jewel," replied Lis. " A jewel?" asked Lucy." Show it to me, Lis" asked Lucy. Lisanna handed over the broken sapphire to Lucy.

" Hmm...I feel like I have seen it somewhere before" wondered Lucy.Right then she knew where she saw it. "I know where I saw it" exclaimed Lucy."Where?" asked Levy. " I saw it on him" exclaimed Lucy pointing at Natsu. " WHAT?" everyone exclaimed except Natsu.
