Chapter 20: Eventful Morning

CHAPTER-20

*Team Reality* * The next morning*

Lucy woke up and looked around. She was first confused where she was and then remembered the events that took place the past 4 days. She groaned and got up from the bed and went to look at herself in the mirror.

She looked down at the 'night dress' if you call it that and sighed. She freshened up and wore one of the few dresses the kingdom owned and left the room.

She walked down the hallway confused which way the dining room was. As she walked down she could hear mumblings all around her. She was positive that they were talking about her.

Suddenly she bumped into something and jumped back as she felt the tip of a sword against her throat. She gasped and looked up to see Natsu and someone who seemed like his soldier holding the sword.

" Nat....I mean Your Highness what is the meaning of this?" looking at the sword against her throat. " Freed remove your sword she is a guest of mine" ordered Natsu

Freed stepped away but still looked at her cautiously. " I think it is better if I walk behind you, Your Highness. He looks like he will kill me" exclaimed Lucy. Natsu laughed and led the way to the dining room.

They sat down on the table after arriving and breakfast was served. Lucy looked at the food first and was hesitant to eat it. Natsu asked " What's wrong? Do you not like the food?" Lucy replied " No that's not it's just that I don't trust the food to eat it."

Natsu asked astounded, " Did you think it's poisoned?" Lucy embarrassedly replied " Well....I don't want to lie but yes that is what I think." Natsu shook his head and said " Fine then...Don't eat" and started eating his food.

Lucy observed him for a few minutes and hesitantly ate her food too. Lucy looked up from her meal and asked "so where should we start researching ?"

Natsu replied " Well the royal library I guess..... There are some ancient scrolls there...We can ask a scholar to translate for us if we don't understand anything."

Lucy nodded and looked at him for a minute wondering whether or not to ask him a question.

Natsu saw her looking and asked "What is it?" Lucy cleared her throat and asked " well are those the only night dresses you have?" Natsu asked, confused, " Night dress? Does the kingdom really have women's night dresses too?"

" Well from how smug Makrov looked while giving me that..... I think what I wore last night to sleep was one of your old dress shirts" said Lucy, feeling embarrassed.

Natsu choked on his soup and looked at her shocked. " What!!!" exclaimed Natsu.

*After breakfast*

They went to the library after breakfast and looked at all the books there. " Well we have no time to waste, let's get started" said Lucy.

Then they both got to work reading all the books trying to find anything that could be of help.

Hours passed by and they still didn't find a single thing that could help them. Both of them were tired and worn out. They moved over to the ancient scrolls hoping they would be of some help.

They both thought I hope the others have better luck than us.
