Chapter 12: Mavis's Death

CHAPTER-12

*100 yrs ago* * Mavis's death*

Mavis rushed into the archive to find the book. Zeref rushed after his wife to see her walking to and fro trying to find something. "Honey, What are you looking for?" asked Zeref as he came to Mavis's side.

"Do you remember the book I brought with me when we got married? I am looking for that" replied Mavis. "Oh that, I know where it is? But why do you need it now?"asked Zeref as he made his way to the secret compartment and opened it.

Mavis came forward and took the book from her husband's hand and flipped through it. " Well, this contains spells passed down from my ancestors. There is a spell to enter other people's thoughts. I can use that to enter one of the women's thoughts to find out where they are going to fight." said Mavis.

"Sweetie, This is too dangerous. I can't let you go there alone" argued Zeref. Mavis rested her hand over his reassuringly. " I will be fine. I am already married to you. That is by far the most dangerous thing." joked Mavis. Zeref cracked a smile and nodded. They shared a sweet kiss before parting ways. Zeref looked at Mavis as she walked out, having a bad feeling.

Mavis entered the thoughts of a young maiden. Maiden's thoughts Ha ! Those scumbags of men will surely lose this time. They have no idea what is waiting for them in the Broceliand forest. Mavis went out of her thoughts and made her way to the forest. But the women's thought continued that they would not be able to escape a poisoned forest.

Zeref also went into a woman's mind to see where they were going to fight because he had a bad feeling.He unlike Mavis heard the entire thought. He looked horror struck as he rushed to stop Mavis from entering the forest.

Mavis looked at the forest as she got down from her horse. She thought to herself the forest is creepier than I remember it to be. She dismissed this thought and walked into the forest. As she walked in she started feeling light headed. She thought she heard someone call her name and turned to see Zeref.

At that moment she understood that she was going to die. As she fell to the ground her last words were " I love you Zeref." Zeref, knowing the danger, came into the forest and placed her head on his lap and cried " No no Mavis don't leave me." Mavis smiled one last time at her husband and closed her eyes and fell into eternal slumber. Zeref, filled with agony and grief screamed " MAVIS......." and the entire forest burst with a black energy.

*Present day *

"....and that is how she died" finished Mira. Wendy was balling her eyes out and sobbing uncontrollably. While Romeo patted her head awkwardly.

Wendy asked " but how does this connect with us having to move out of the queendom"

Erza said " That we still don't know... unless Levy had any idea." looking at Levy .Levy shook her head.

Lucy and Natsu walked up to them and said " But I think I might know how we can find out ...." holding out the pieces of the key. They joined the parts together and a bright light engulfed both Lucy and Natsu as they were lifted off the ground. Everyone looked at them in shock as they were lifted off the ground.
