Chapter 23: Research and more

CHAPTER-23

*Team archive*

The girls woke up and got dressed and came out of their tents. They came out to see the boys already awake and getting the horses ready.

" Shall we get going?" asked Lisanna. " Yea...It's going to be a long day" replied Bickslow.They all got on their horses and went towards the archive.

*At the archive*

They all got off their horses and let them go, instructing them to hide. "First, how about you guys carry the bodies and bury them....then me and Lis will clean the blood off the floors and shelves" suggested Levy.

" That sounds good," agreed Gajeel. All of them went inside. Lis and Levy coughed covering their noses from the rotting smell.

The guys quickly collected the bodies and took them outside. Meanwhile the girls went to find some cloth and water.

They quickly finished up the cleaning. " Hmm how about you and Lisanna take the guarding today and me and Levy research today" suggested Gajeel.

They both nodded and went outside. " Then shall we start?" sighed Levy, looking at the mountains of books waiting for them. Both of them cracked their necks and took a book each and started reading.

After many hours of reading with no luck,Levy saw something that shed a light of hope. She went to get the book but it was too high for her to reach.

Gajeel lifted his head from the book and saw her struggling. He silently laughed and went to help her. Gajeel made his way behind her and took the book out.Levy stiffened when she felt him behind her.

She turned around and looked up at his face startled. " Here you go Shrimp," said Gajeel, handing the book over to her. " Huh...oo-oh thanks" stuttered Levy. She broke out of her trance and said " Here look at this" pointing at the first page.

*Outside*

Bickslow and Lis were guarding outside for hours with an awkward silence surrounding them. Finally,Bickslow broke the silence by asking " Is your sister a good queen?" Lis startled by the question, replied " Yes of course...she cares very much about the queendom and she has dedicated her whole life to it."

" I see.... Natsu also went through a lot to keep the kingdom prospering" said looking back fondly in the direction of the kingdom. " I guess we are both alike in many ways .... I mean both are 18 to begin with while all the others are 20 except for Wendy and Romeo and we also watched our siblings go through so much." said Lisanna.

They were both looking at each other and smiling when Gajeel came out and said " Guys come inside.....Shrimp found something." " Shrimp?" they both asked confused. " Ah I mean Levy....come on."

They both nodded and made sure the perimeter was safe once again before going inside to see what Levy had found.
