"Excuse me?" His low voice asked, drawing my eyes from the world inside my book, although it seems worth it when I look up to see an attractive face smirking at me slightly.

"You're new," I comment, no hesitation in my being. I know every person in this town. He's not one of them.

He chuckles, moving his glasses up on his nose. " I am," He confirms, "I just moved here with my family."

"Right, the new doctor's kids," I acknowledge, although noting the look of mild surprise on his face. "You'll realize very quickly just how small this town is, Mr?"

"Cullen, Edward Cullen."

"Mr.Cullen," I finish. "So, how can I help you?"

"I was hoping to take the seat beside you," He explains. "The teacher said it was the only available one."

"Oh, of course!" I agree, moving my backpack from the seat and cursing myself for not realizing his intentions sooner.

"Thank you..." He thanks, eyes wandering to my own. "I'm not sure I got your name?"

"Remmington Rhodes," I introduce, shaking his hand. "And just to give you a head start, my mom owns the local bakery, my dad is a lawyer at an office in Port Angeles, I have a brother that's in eighth grade and a sister that's two, my favorite color is sky blue, I was born August 3rd, and have severe anxiety."

He just stares at me, shaking his head slightly after a moment. "You're something, aren't you?"

I chuckle, shrugging, "I guess you could say that."

"Okay class, today we have a new student joining us, Mr. Cullen, if you could please wave."

"Come on Cullen, you're coming with me," I instruct, taking the boys hand after class. "We're going to get you started on the friends process of a new school."

"Oh, no I really am okay with my family," He denies, pushing up his glasses that had fallen down his nose.

"Did it seem like a question?" I ask, continuing to tug on his arm until we reach the lunchroom, and eventually my friends.

"Rem, there you- oh wow," Jess cuts herself off, eyes landing on the man behind me.

"Rem, you can't just go kidnapping the new kid," Mike scolds, albeit jokingly.

Turning around to Edward, I smile my sweetest smile. "Did I kidnap you?"

He pauses, just grinning at me with a closed lip smile. "Absolutely you did."

"Hey!"

"We've been over this Rem!"

"I'm sorry about all of them," Angie apologizes to Edward, moving one seat closer to Eric so that Edward and I can sit. "I'm Angela Weber."

"Edward Cullen, it's a pleasure," He returns.

"Okay, so you met Ang, and then this is Jessica Stanley, Mike Newton, Eric Yorkie, Tyler Crowley, and Lauren Mallory, my friends since pre-k. Friends, this is Edward Cullen, he's one of the new doctors kids."

"Nice to meet you man," Tyler greets. "Any interest in basketball?"

"Dude, leave him alone, he just got here," Erik scolds, hitting Ty's shoulder.

"He'd be perfect for the team!"

"Pssst," I whisper, leaning towards Edward, who looks entirely amused at the people I call friends. "They grow on you. Till then, you've got me. This will now go down forever as the day we met."

He just smiles in return, nodding his head. "Indeed it will."
