SLEEPY {17}

Waking up the next day, I was reeling as I remembered everything that happened last night.

I hadn't dreamt it, Auburn actually wanted to kiss me. I should have just said fuck it and did it but instead, I wanted to wait.

I wanted it to be perfect not just a 'I just broke up with my boyfriend so I want to kiss you to see if that takes my pain away' type of kiss.

Even though there was that slight chance that once she was no longer heart broken, that she wouldn't even give me the time of day anymore. Of course I didn't want that to be the case but if it were there's nothing I could do about it.

I just have to enjoy the moments I get now and hope for the best later on.

After I got out of bed and showered, I got dressed and made my way to the living room where I see Auburn seated on the couch and Tae on the other.

Just as Auburn sees me, she goes to speak but Tae does too, his voice overpowering hers.

"Sit here!" Tae says as he pats the spot beside him. I glance over at Auburn who frowns then pipes in, "No, sit here."

I look between the two of them and Auburn flashes me a look. That's when I remembered, I had to do everything she said the whole day.

I don't say anything as I take a seat beside Auburn who sticks her tongue out at Tae. "Rude." He shoots back although he doesn't seem that phased as he goes right back to watching tv, forgetting I'm even there.

"Glad you remembered." Auburn says as she nudges my shoulder with hers.

"How could I forget? I'm still in shock that you even won." I say and she makes a face. "It's not that hard to believe. I'm an awesome swimmer."

"Yeah yeah. Just go easy on me today, alright?" I ask and instead of answering me, Auburn simply shrugs. I turn my head towards the tv and watch whatever they had on, wondering what today would bring.

Later that day when Taehyung had retreated back to the room and his parents were out back relaxing, Auburn and I sat there watching more episodes of Parasyte.

We had started from the beginning so she could see every episode and not just where I was at. We were almost caught up now and I think it was safe to say, she still really liked it.

"You know," Auburn started, not bothering to remove her gaze from the tv. "I really wasted this whole day of being able to make you do whatever I wanted. I think I need to do something kinda extreme to make up for it."

I turned my head to look at her but she was still facing the screen.

"Like what?" I asked, waiting for her to further elaborate. I was hoping it wasn't something super crazy that I didn't want to do.

Still without looking up, she scoots closer to me, throwing her blanket over me as well. From underneath the blanket, I felt her hand bump mine. "Since kissing is a bit much for now, I want you to hold my hand."

I stared at her, my heart rate picking up at the thought alone. "Are you sure?" I ask and she finally looks over at me, a serious look in her eyes. "Well of course, you have to."

I couldn't help but to smile a bit at her words. "Well if I absolutely have no choice..." I say as I reach over and take her hand in mine.

My heart was jumping for joy as I saw a small smile spread across her face. A smile made way to my lips then too.

I intertwined our fingers, resting them on the couch in the small gap of space between us.

Without a single word after that, we continued on with our show. That's what we did for the next couple hours, watching as Tae would come and go and his parents too. None of them suspected what was happening under the blanket. Hell, I still couldn't believe it was even happening.

Auburn's hands were so soft and small in mine it made me never want to let go. I was loving every minute of this.

I could stay here like this all night but inevitably, I knew we'd have to go to bed at some point.

It was around 1:30am when I could see Auburn starting to yawn. I myself was getting sleepy but I didn't want this to end. Even though I felt like I could fall asleep at any given moment now, I wanted this to continue.

"I don't think I can stay up any longer...I'm so sleepy." Auburn says, her eyes opening and closing repeatedly as she tried to stay awake but was failing miserably.

"We can go to bed. Here, come on I-" but my words were cut off as Auburn tightened her grip on my hand. "No, let's stay out here." She says, her head falling onto my shoulder.

I stared down at her in shock as she leaned into my side, her fingers still laced in mine.

When neither of us said anything, I realized she had fallen asleep. Knowing there'd be no getting up without waking her, I accepted what was happening. Not like I was complaining.

I leaned my head down on top of hers, the faint scent of her shampoo filling my nose. Even her fucking hair smelled good. She's just all around perfect.

Yawning, I let my eyes fall shut, falling asleep next to Auburn. Aka my Best friend's little sister. Who might I add, is still off limits.
