JUNGKOOK'S POV•

About a week or so later, things had stayed the same. Everything's as it usually was. After Auburn texted me about the test, I hadn't spoken to her since.

Of course I didn't expect to but still, it sucked. I had just started to feel like we might be making progress to at least be friends but I guess I was wrong.

There was nothing I could do about that though so it is what it is. I'll just have to continue on as I usually do.

"Are you coming man? They're gonna leave without us." Tae says, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah dude sorry." I say as I grab my bag, slinging it over my shoulder and following Tae out the door.

Currently I was on my way to the cabin Taehyung's family went to every year. It was pretty much official that I came with, I always did.

Taehyung's parents loved me. The guys were always jealous that they invited me and not them.

Usually it's his parents, Taehyung and I, and Auburn and her douchebag boyfriend but for some reason, she didn't bring him this year.

Of course I didn't mind and Taehyung didn't seem to either. Honestly, I was quite glad Mark didn't tag along. That would give me a better chance to talk to her.

This trip always lasted a week so a whole week where Auburn would be by herself sounded great to me. I'm sure she was a little sad she didn't have someone with her but hey, maybe she has her reasons. Not like I was complaining.

"Just squeeze in the back. I'll sit in the middle." Taehyung says as he chucks his bag in the trunk with everyone else's.

I hop in the car, then Tae does, then Auburn gets situated in too, instantly putting her headphones in and leaning her head against the window.

The ride to the cabin was nearly three hours long so she definitely had the right idea. Luckily I did too, having packed my headphones right away before anything else.

Taehyung went straight to playing some game on his phone before his parents even pulled out of the driveway.

I pulled out my phone too and prepare for the long drive ahead.

Finally after what felt like forever, we arrived. As soon as we did, Auburn was quick to hop out of the car, reaching her arms up into the air to stretch them along with her legs.

"Let's get everything inside so that we can get dinner started. I'm starving." Taehyung's dad says as he pops open the truck, basically signaling Tae and I to start grabbing.

We did just that, grabbing whatever bags we could hold. Just as I went to grab a black bag, a hand reached out and grabbed it before I could.

"That's mine, I got it." Auburn says, her hand brushing against mine as she grabs the handles, pulling the bag to her chest.

I don't say anything as I grab the rest of the bags, watching as Auburn stays to shut the trunk, leaving just her and I.

"No Mark this time?" I ask even though it was already obvious, I just wanted to be nosy and know why.

"Nope." Auburn says, not clarifying why like I wanted her to. I watch as she shuts the trunk then turns in the direction of the cabin.

When I don't follow right away, she turns to me and says, "Coming?" Pulling my bottom lip in, I nod, following behind her as she starts to walk again.

Once we make it inside, I'm greeted with the same familiar place I've been to multiple times. It looked just as we left it.

"Let's swim! That's what I've been looking forward to the whole ride. Better to swim before we eat then after." Tae says as soon as he sees me.

"Yeah sure." I say as I set the bags down, aside from mine, as I follow Tae to the room we stayed in.

I set my bag down on one of the beds while Tae took the other. I unzipped my bag and rummaged around for my swim trunks and once I found them, I headed to the bathroom to change.

Once I came out, Tae was all ready to go so we headed to the pool out back. It was a huge pool and It was super nice. This place even had a hot tub too which I was definitely looking forward to using later.

"Geronimo!" Tae yelled as he cannonballed right into the deep end. I shook my head as I slowly lowered myself in, letting my mostly bare skin get use to the cold water.

Tae swam over to me just as I dunked myself under so I wasn't so cold. When I came back up, I saw him staring past me at I had no idea what. When I turned to see, I had to keep my jaw from falling open.

Standing outside the pool about to step in was Auburn in an all too revealing olive-green bikini. Of course I didn't mind, but Tae seemed to as he said, "You've definitely made this weird. Couldn't you at least wear a one piece so you don't scar my eyes."

Auburn makes a face as she lowers herself into the pool, keeping some distance from us, from me.

"Get out then If you don't like it." She shoots back and Tae scoffs as he dives under and swims off to the other side of the pool.

"I think you look great. The bathing suit I mean." I say without thinking. Auburn looks over at me as she laughs a little bitterly. "Thanks. Mark hated it, said I looked slutty." I wasn't sure how to respond to that but I was definitely shocked.

"He seems like an asshole." I say even though that's exactly what I thought about him. I just said seems to lessen the blow I guess.

"He can be, yeah. That's why he isn't here." She finally admits but doesn't elaborate any further. "Makes sense." I say as I run my hand through my hair, my arms flexing as I did so.

To my surprise, Auburn was staring. Although I found great pleasure in that, I cleared my throat, which made her head turn the other way. She seemed embarrassed now. I smiled.

I watched Tae, realizing he saw all of that, the first and only thing coming out of his mouth being,

"Yuck."
