The following day at school I noticed right away, Auburn and Mark together as if nothing had happened.
Mark was standing behind Auburn with his arms wrapped tightly around her waist, leaving no space between his crotch and her ass.
I tightened my grip on the strap of my bag as I scoffed, turning in the other direction.
This was nothing new. They always fought and made up. More then half the time and it was really sad.
I would never understand why the two of them would stay together when all they ever did was fight and all he ever did was cheat and treat her like shit.
Moments like this made me want to tell Taehyung even more. I still hadn't told him about the night at the party and I had decided not to. Why would I when it wouldn't make a difference anyway?
Taehyung already hated Mark and Auburn wasn't going to do a damn thing about it anyway.
She was just okay with being treated how she got treated and no one could change that but her. So why add fuel to the fire?
The rest of class, I barely paid attention as my mind was elsewhere. As usual, on Auburn.
•••After school, I met up with the guys as we headed over to Tae's like we usually did.
His place was the nicest in terms of gaming systems, good food, and not to mention, his hot ass sister.
"I call dibs on this couch!" Namjoon called out as he flopped down on the bigger sofa.
I slipped my jacket off and set it off to the side as I took a seat in my usual spot. At some point I had just kinda claimed it and no one else tried to take it after that.
I watched as Tae sat down beside me, leaving the others to find a different, less comfortable, spot.
We loved being in the living room verses Tae's room and I'm sure that got under his sister's skin but she never said anything about it so neither did we.
"Who's playing against me?" Namjoon asked as he turned on the game counsel, waving around the second remote.
Tae snatched it up and the others complained, having wanted to be first to play. We always took turns but of course we always fought over who would play first since there was lots of us.
I leaned back and watched as they started to play the game, the others watching intently as well.
At some point during the game, Auburn came home which caught my attention immediately although none of the others noticed.
Of course, she headed straight upstairs without even so much as a glance in our direction.
A few hours pass and pretty much everyone has had their turn and then some. After my turn was up for a fourth time, I headed into the kitchen for a drink.
As I was rummaging through the fridge trying to decide, I heard feet shuffle into the kitchen.
I lifted my head and looked back to see Auburn standing there, her clothes different from when she had walked in.
What was once a plain black shirt and blue jeans was now black leggings and an oversized gray hoodie. Even when she wasn't trying, she still looked great.
"Hey." Auburn says, her eyes landing on me as I close the fridge without my drink, my attention elsewhere now.
"Hey." I say, honestly a bit taken back that she was trying to talk to me.
That didn't last long though as she sparked up a conversation on the only thing we'd ever have a reason to talk about.
"Did you end up telling my brother?" Auburn asks as she brushes a strand of hair from her face.
"There was no reason for me to." I say simply and Auburn nods slowly. "Alright, thanks."
Auburn then walks past me and to the fridge, opening it up and pulling out a bottle of water.
Before she shuts the door she pulls out a bottle of banana milk. I don't say anything as she shuts the door and turns to me. Without saying anything at first, she pushes the bottle in my direction.
"You like this, right? I see you drink it pretty much every time you're over here." Auburn laughs.
I almost felt like giggling like a little girl at the fact that she knew one of my favorite drinks. Of course, I didn't do that though.
"Yeah, thanks." I say, taking the bottle from her hand. "No problem. Thanks for not telling my brother, I appreciate it. I'll see ya." Auburn says as she turns on her heels and exits the room.
Once she was out of sight, I made my way back to the living room where the guys were still lost in the video game. It was now Hoseok and Jin's turns so I sat back down to watch.
"Banana milk, huh?" Tae laughs from beside me. I turn to him, mid sip. "Of course. Thanks for buying these by the way!" I say but Taehyung tilts his head to the side.
"Oh I didn't buy those. Auburn did."
My brows furrow as I pull my drink away. "She likes them too?" I ask, having not known that. Taehyung shakes his head.
"No that's the thing. She hates banana milk. I have no idea why she buys it but I don't question her. Girls are weird." Taehyung laughs as he turns his attention back to the game.
I sit there, confused as fuck. Why would she buy a drink she didn't like and waste her money like that? Girls really are weird.
As I watch the game, I can't help but to wonder about Auburn. There's so many things I don't know or understand about her and if I was given the chance, I'd love to find out.
Hopefully one day we can have a legit conversation and not just one about her douchebag boyfriend.
Maybe one day...but until then, I'll just appreciate this good ass banana milk.
