Kaiju Paradise Shorts + Headcanons (DISCONTINUED)

Character List

This chapter is also not necessary for understanding the story, but it will definitely give you an idea of who the hell any of these people are. It may explain character relationships, give you a general sense of the timeline, and explain some backstory I may not have written about in these shorts. (A few of these characters may be present in other stories, or may straight-up not appear at all. Mainly the human ones.)

Species: Fed (gootraxian)

Name(s): Grey, Neckbeard, Lone wolf, Not him again, etc. (Oh yeah and Tom, too, cause that was his human name I guess)

Pronouns: He/him

Personality: A fake edgelord who makes all his normal struggles out to be so much worse than they really are. Someone with no concept of personal space whose only understandable form of rejection is a bat or paw to the face. He makes himself out to be a stone-cold badass but would probably cry if someone told him they loved him.

Extra: He's got a crush on like 3 different girls, 1 of which is a human researcher. You can probably guess how that's going... At some point, he learned of his human name and decided to partially accept it, but he prefers to be called anything else most of the time.

Species: Panther (gootraxian)

Name(s): Scytheclaws/Scythe

Pronouns: They/them

Personality: Known to be a loner, save for other panthers and their carneline friend, they are a silent hunter who only comes out when it's dark. They are a recluse most of the time. They are known by friends to be very sarcastic at times.

Extra: Scythe is known to have only existed for one blackout. They stayed behind the emergency door during the following low power event, and thus did not encounter Bluebones, their carneline companion, until after it was over.

Species: Carneline (gootraxian)

Name(s): Bluebones/Blue

Pronouns: They/them

Personality: A kind, friendly carneline, who doesn't have many close friends but is always willing to help the ones they do have. They prefer to travel in groups when possible, and can be seen with many other gootraxians. Usually though they can be found around their best friend, Scytheclaws.

Extra: Their right horn is broken, exposing the blue interior. They are known to have survived multiple power outages and a blackout. For a gootraxian, this is fairly old. They are probably the oldest carneline in the facility.

Species: Jammer (gootraxian)

Name(s): DJ, Music man

Pronouns: He/they

Personality: A loud, friendly gootraxian, known for his love of music, especially the loud kind. He's good at making friends wherever he goes, and sometimes convincing humans not to kill him. Even if he fails to do that, he's usually gathered with a large party who would prefer that the DJ not be stabbed to death, and thus are willing to defend him.

Extra: His markings only appear when it is extremely dark.

Species: Nightshade (gootraxian)

Name(s): Midnight

Pronouns: He/they

Personality: A quiet, yet approachable gootraxian, known for always being around DJ or the other members of his wolf pack. He doesn't actively infect humans, like some of the other characters in this list, but plenty of them try and attack him regardless. Of course, DJ's rave parties are typically on the ass of anyone who attacks any member of them.
