Kaiju Paradise Shorts + Headcanons (DISCONTINUED)

"No! It's him! He's still in there, I know he is! Let me go! Cole! Cole, please! Can you hear me?!"

The woman kept screaming as she writhed in the man's grasp.

"No, Lin! He's gone! That's not him! I'm telling you, please stop struggling!" The man begged as he tried to drag Lin backwards.

At the other end of the hall stood a kaiju, staring silently at the two humans. They didn't quite understand what they were yelling about, but the woman's voice felt familiar.

The woman struggled, but was not strong enough to escape the man. Tears streamed down her face and her screams soon turned to gasps for air.

"Let me go, Ryan," Lin choked out, "He's in there..."

"No, he's not! Lin, I'm sorry but he's gone!" Ryan shouted back.

Another figure appeared beside the kaiju, a wolf-like creature with a fedora on its head.

"Is she trying to attack you?" It asked the kaiju.

"I don't think so, but she's... acting strange, isn't she?"

"Yeah, normally the humans try to run away from us," It observed.

"God, there's another one. Lin, stop! We have to go!" Called Ryan.

After staring at the kaiju for another moment, Lin went still, allowing Ryan to pick her up. Ryan gave the two gootraxians one final look, then ran off with Lin. Opening a door, a few distant voices seemed to speak to them. Neither gootraxian could make out what was being said, but they did make out Ryan's response.

"No, she's fine, but... Cole, he..." Ryan's voice trailed off.

Entering the room, he was soon out of sight.

"Hey, is something wrong?" Asked the wolf, normally called a fed.

"...I don't know. That was... weird," Said the kaiju.

"Yeah, but they might come back. Let's go."

"Okay."

The kaiju and fed retreated into the lab, but the kaiju would never forget that experience. Being just recently infected, those kinds of experiences stuck even more strongly. Why did that human call him Cole? Even stranger, why did he want to respond to her?
