Return of the Gay People

The mochi and lang could be found wandering the facility almost constantly. If they were ever bothered, the mochi, Coco, would scare the humans away. Candy, the lang, would always hide from them. She was terrified of humans, and Coco could understand why.

"They're gone," Said Coco, turning to the large rock behind her.

Candy emerged, looking around just in case.

"Thanks, Coco," She said, smiling.

The two gootraxians had only existed for a week, perhaps, maybe even less time than that. There were many things in the facility that they had yet to experience. There were many gootraxians they had yet to meet, which was what they were focused on now.

"Hey, that figs called you a lang, right?" Coco asked, remembering the conversation that had taken place before the human had interrupted, chasing away the figs.

"Yeah, they did. So I guess I'm a lang!"

"Well, that's one mystery solved. I wonder what else the gootraxians know about langs?"

The blue red panda... blue panda? looked down at itself, examining its paws and fur.

"Ever since I left that room, it seems like the gas has been following me. I wonder what that means." Candy said, turning her head to get a look at her tail, which was wispy and producing a steam-like gas.

"Gootraxians are usually composed of whatever they're infected by, right? Like kaijus are covered in crystals, sprinklekits are made out of ice cream... sort of. So you must have been infected by that gas." Coco said, taking a close look at the gas as it flowed from Candy's fur.

"Why would I have gone in there though? Isn't getting infected, um, bad?"

Coco was silent for a moment, thinking of a response.

"Maybe-"

But before Coco could respond, she was cut off by a loud surge, as every light in the facility went out. She heard Candy yelp and felt something cling to her fur. The scent confirmed that it was Candy. The facility was silent, which made Coco feel blind and deaf at the same time. The only sensation she could feel was Candy's arms around her, shaking from fear. She placed a paw on her shoulder, blinking until she could see again.

"It's okay, the lights just went out! Woah..." Coco said, looking around in amazement.

The facility looked like a completely new place. The once blue crystals in the cave had become a blinding white color. Coco struggled to look directly at them. She began to walk, pulling Candy along with her.

"We should get back to the gas room..." Candy said in a quiet voice, still afraid of the new environment.

"I think we should explore first! I've never seen this before..." Coco was still amazed by the change the facility had undergone.

Candy didn't protest, and so they kept walking, now just holding hands so that they wouldn't be separated. They froze when they saw something move next to one of the crystals. A black gootraxian seemed to rise from the base of one of the crystals, glancing around. Its eyes briefly landed on the pair of gootraxians a few yards away, but then it seemed to spot something elsewhere, and ran towards it. Coco felt Candy press closer to her.

"What's wrong?" She asked her frightened friend.

"What was that?" Candy asked, her voice audibly shaking, as she stared in the direction the thing had gone.

"Probably just a new gootraxian. I'm sure they're friendly." Coco beamed, hoping to meet one in person now.

Candy didn't seem so sure, but they continued walking. They froze when they came to the human's base. Normally, the door would have been shut and locked tight, but it seemed the blackout had caused it to stand wide open. Coco looked at Candy, who looked back at her nervously.
