Tiger

I go back to the cafe, after taking a break. I’ve already apologised to Maki for my absence and she forgave me. I see a boy wearing a hood and a mask and one of the other employees tells me to ask for his order.

“I’ll look after the cash register,” he says and I nod. I walk over to the man and ask for his order. He doesn’t look up from his laptop when saying his order. “I’ll have a regular flat white, with normal milk, nothing extra. Thanks,” they say and I recognise the voice. I try to glimpse at their face and they keep their head ducked.

“Divino,” I say, cheerfully, and they look up, shocked. A flash of recognition flashes across their face and they lower their mask so they can smile at me. I laugh and promise to talk to them after I make their coffee. I go behind the desk, with a bright smile, and make the flat white.

I serve the coffee and sit beside them, cheerful as ever. “Why did you never respond?” They ask and hand me their phone onto my texts. I blush and apologise. “My brothers got mad and made an investigation around it. They found someone hacked into my side of the call and took screenshots! They got fined,” I explain and Megumi nods along. They smile and I do too. I thought about streaming with them again but they quit. “Heard you quit?” I ask and they nod.

“I was overwhelmed and I only had Nobara and Maki as support systems,” they sigh and I nod. “I missed you a lot and hated being followed around everywhere.” 

Kugisaki comes over to my house, while my brothers are still out, and we do a stream. “Hello! I’m Yuji, or Tiger, and I’m stuck-” I say as a joke and Nobara cuts me off with a loud “HUH? My presence is a blessing!” She says, flipping her hair and I roll my eyes. People in the comment section praise her.

I scoff and grab the hat labelled truth and Nobara grabs the hat labelled dare. I smile and people go hysterical in the comments.

“Alright, we’re going to wait a couple of moments to see if more people join,” Kugisaki announces and I laugh. She pulls out some of the slips and I whine at her. “Who’s handwriting is this? It’s too messy to be yours,” she says and I frown. I look at the paper again. Who wrote these again? “Oh! My brother!” I say and Kugisaki nods. I ignore my screen buzzing like crazy due to this “announcement”.

“Recently, we realised we’re private people,” Kugisaki says after a few minutes and a re-introduction. “So Yuji and I decided to test our limits with Truth or Dare!” She smiles and I join her.

“We play rock, paper, scissors and the winner draws a truth or dare and the loser has to do what the paper says! This’ll be boring but hey! You’re here!” I laugh and Nobara nods.

We start the game, and I lose immediately. “Shit,” I say, under my breath, and Nobara falls back laughing. I smirk awkwardly at the camera, not knowing if they heard. “Alright,” she looks at me and I point at the dare hat. She dips her hand in and ruffles around. “Tryna get the right vibe from a piece of paper,” she says, holding eye contact. She pulls one out and reads it aloud. “Wear a pair of shorts on your head like a hat!” I run to go grab my shorts and slip them on my head. I return to the camera, looking like a clown. I smile, awkwardly, with my thumbs up.

“And shoot!” I hold up paper, Nobara holds up rock. I smile and cheer and she looks at her own hand like it stabbed her. “Traitor!” She shouts at her hand. She gives me the truth hat and I dip my hand in. “Alrighty!” I pull out a paper, overdramatic, and Nobara rolls her eyes. “Who was your first kiss with?” I ask and Nobara turns bright red. “M- Maki is her name… we’re dating now,” she mutters in her hand and I look at the camera.

Divino ✔: I’ve seen their relationship… It's cute.

I blush as I see Megumi’s comment. I can imagine their smiling face. “Hi, Megs,” I smile at the comment and they send a waving emoji back.

tigerxdivino: SO CUTE

divinx: never thought I’d ship these two… this is my new brain rot. Whoops.

Nobara puts out her hand for another round.

We eventually get to the bottom and Nobara pulls out a truth slip. “Who do you have a crush on? What is this? Are we in fifth grade again?” She asks, bewildered but realises what this means. She raises her brows at me, smirking. I read the comments again.

txger: $5 USD bet he’ll say “Jennifer Lawrence”

divinx: Bet, @txger, he’ll say “Divino”.

“Uh…” I say awkwardly and Nobara winks. I cringe and laugh. “Why do I have to say this live?” I whine and Nobara hits my knee. I yelp. The shorts fall off my head and I pout. “Fine! Fine, it’s… it’s Megumi,” I say and slide away from the camera's sight. “Please tell me some of y’all recorded that!” Nobara says and I see the comments from here.

txger: fuck, what’s your PayPal?

divinx: I don’t want money. You live in Sendai?

txger: yesss?

divinx: Great, we can meet at Mai’s, the cafe, at 9:00 AM Saturday?

txger: HOLY SHIT- yep, it’s a date :)

“Oi, Yuji, there’s people getting together in the comments!” I crawl back over and smile. “Megs, we gotta meet there too, same time,” I joke and wink at the camera.

Divino ✔: sounds like a plan ;)

divinx: HOLY SHITTT

“This is the best rom-com I’ve ever seen,” Nobara says and we all smile. “I think we should end the stream here,” she says and I nod.

“Thank you all for joining! I hope it wasn’t boring!” I say and Nobara smiles. “Good luck, Tiger and Divinx!” She exclaims and I turn it off. I sigh, realising I asked Megumi on a date. “I asked… Megumi on a… date?” I say, trying to wrap my head around the scenario, and Nobara laughs. I groan, embarrassed, and she pats my shoulder. “I’ll help you get ready,” she says, proudly and I smile.
