THE PERFECT GIRL - MAREUX

Alana's head was all over the place, she had to keep reassuring herself she wasn't dreaming as she drove to Jonathans place.

The girl couldn't bear to be in that school anymore, but couldn't find the boy that she wanted to see the most anywhere. Although it wasn't unusual for Jonathan to skip classes, this time she felt unsettled. The type of unsettled where you have to keep your back straight from uncomfortability. But Alana blamed that on the fact she was still trying to wrap her head around the morning events.

But, her unsettlement grew even more as she pulled into his house. Two cop cars were parked outside, the environment suddenly felt eerily quiet. Alana felt like she had something lodged in her throat as she opened her car door and stepped out. Her leg shook slightly as the anxiousness built up inside of her. Her feet carried her way to the door as she gently opened it to be greeted with Joyce pacing, two cops and her dad. He was holding someones bike, and thats when the realisation hit Alana.

She recognised that bike easily, it was Wills. Jonathan appeared from the kitchen, clearly distressed as he made eye contact with the person who had walked into the house. A small smile grew on his face as he recognised her.

"Alana." He sighed, before she ran over to him and gave him a hug, wrapping her arms over his shoulder. Hopper glanced over at the girl and slightly nodded his head, understanding the fact she was trying to comfort her friend. The others walked out into the backyard as they heard the dog barking, giving the two some privacy.

"What happened Jonathan?" She knotted her eyebrows in concern, placing her hands on his cheeks as he started to choke up. "It's Will. He didn't come home last night and I feel like it was my fault and I- I just don't know what to do." He stuttered, his face becoming hot as tears began to stream down them. Alana's heart was aching. Not only for the boy in front of her but also for the distressed mother clearly in a panicked state.

She couldn't even bring herself to imagine the worst case scenario. She slowly held his head to rest against her shoulder, allowing him to relieve himself of some of his emotions. The previous drama completely gone from her mind as she traced her mind for any place Will could be.

It was nothing like him to run away like that; that was the most terrifying thing, because if he hadn't run away what happened to him?

The back door opened to reveal a stressed out Hopper who announced to everyone that he was going to organise a search party throughout the woods for Will.

This seemed to give the Byers a bit more confidence into finding him, and Alana quickly hugged them goodbye before getting in her car and following her dad home.

He slammed his door shut in distress. "I don't even want to hear your excuse for not being at school because that is the least of my problems; but you are staying at home all night so I can make sure your safe." He quickly stated, leaning his hand on his car.

Alana stood starstruck. "Seriously? No! I need to help find Will!" She protested as she crossed her arms.

"Alana, I mean it. Adults will be volunteering to help, we do not need other kids to go missing! I can't lose you like that!" He angrily stated as the two began to walk into the house.

"But I'm not a kid! And Jonathans my friend, and Will was too. He was like a little brother to me dad." She sighed, letting her hands fall down in disbelief.
