TRANSGENDER - CRYSTAL CASTLES

Alana had spent the rest of her day hidden away in her living room. She had resorted to eating her feelings, and had managed to eat practically everything in the house.

She jumped slightly when the door opened, revealing a solemn Hopper. Her heart dropped when he slowly took of his hat, suddenly finding a new interest in the floor pattern.

"Dad?" She called, feeling her heart beat out of her chest from anticipation.

"We found Will." He stated, looking up at her. Her eyes widened slightly in hopes he was ok, but her gut was telling her otherwise.

"And?" She answered, silence filling the room. Hopper shook his head, and Alana could feel her whole weight dropping in realisation.

A gasp left her lips, tears instantly finding their way back into her eyes.

"Oh god." She sobbed, instantly covering her face with her hands as tears flooded down her cheeks. She couldn't believe it. There was no way that Will Byers, a small child who had barely even started life, was gone. It was unfair how the world works. How could this happen? And why did it have to be him.

"I'm sorry kid." Hopper sat next to Alana, bringing her into one of his famous bear hugs. Alana instantly fell into his hug, letting go of all her weight and allowing herself to stay in his arms. She needed this comfort from someone, she needed someone who would be there with her when the whole world ended. She needed her dads comfort, and Hopper knew this.

Everything stopping Alana from accepting the stress and hurt from her day instantly washed away as her emotions came crashing down on her. Everything was going wrong, and although she was still angry at Jonathan all she wanted to do was see if he was ok.

"C-Can you drive me to the Byers house?" She struggled to ask her dad through her sobs. He simply nodded his head, placing his arm around her shoulder as the two walked out of the house towards Hoppers car. She couldn't imagine the hurt both Jonathan and Joyce were currently going through. Will was like her little brother, the two constantly hanging out due to Jonathan and her being friends. But to lose your son and brother must be heartbreaking, and Alana couldn't imagine how the two felt right now. She just prayed that they were ok.

Hopper had already been to the Byers previously to inform them on the news about Will. Hopper had also informed Alana that Joyces mental state was rightfully not like her usual.

Alana accepted this, understanding the grief she must feel from losing her youngest son. The two knocked on the door, hearing scrambling come from the other side before Joyce slightly opened the door, her face relaxing when she noticed that it was them.

"Oh, your back. Is there something else?" Joyce asked, opening the door and letting them in.

"No, Alana just wanted to stay and give you guys some company." Hopper told her, even though Alana knew her dad was most likely going to sleep outside in his car for extra protection.
