"kuroo-san says he wants to meet with you sometime today."

bokuto sighed putting down the report he was glancing over, "doesn't he know we're in the era of technology? he doesn't have to meet with me every time he wants something."

akaashi just shrugged as a response.

"did he say at what time?"

"no, he just said whenever you got the chance."

"how considered of him," he rolled his eyes.

bokuto glanced at the time. 4:16.

"i guess tell him we'll be over around 5:45."

"we?" akaashi asked, a tone of hesitance laced in his voice.

"yes, we" bokuto replied amused.

for the longest time bokuto thought akaashi was a robot. he didn't see him eat, drink, and hell, there were some times he thought akaashi didn't even blink. but what really got bokuto was that he rarely saw akaashi show emotions. sure he'd show a small glimmer of irritation when someone was being particularly difficult but otherwise he was indifferent to most things.

that was until he saw akaashi and kuroo interact and he realized akaashi was capable of at least one emotion, more specially, annoyance. whenever kuroo would speak akaashi would pretend he wasn't there or would give a snarky response back.

for some reason unknown to bokuto, akaashi hates kuroo. not even dislikes, but hates. it came to him as a particular shock as it was kuroo who indirectly got akaashi the job here as his secretary.

kenma, kuroo's long-term boyfriend and head of marketing at kuroo's company, is best friends with akaashi. they went to college together and were even roommates for a good portion of the four years. kuroo on the other hand, was bokuto's best friend from both college and high school years. they both got along because while they went to some snobby private high school, they weren't complete dickheads like every one else. apparently not being a dickhead forms relationships with other non-dickheads.

it was all a big coincidence as to how akaashi was hired at bokuto's company. bokuto was in need of a secretary and akaashi needed a job, so kenma recommended akaashi applied for the position. akaashi was hesitant about it at first since bokuto being a friend of kuroo's meant surely he was also a "pain in the ass" as akaashi puts it. but eventually, he reluctantly agreed to apply and the rest was history.

"i really don't feel like dealing with him today," akaashi sighed.

"i doubt it'll be longer than an hour. plus kenma will be there."

"yeah that's the only reason why i'm willing to go. it's not like i have a choice either way, do i?"

bokuto shook his head.

-

"bokuto my bro, what is up!" kuroo's voice boomed as they walked through the door.

"hey kuroo, nothing much," bokuto replied giving kuroo a quick slap on the back.

kuroo's eyes fell on the person trailing behind bokuto. "akaaashii, up top!" kuroo smiled holding his hand up.

akaashi didn't say anything, instead walking past him to greet kenma who was sitting on the leather sofa.

"god he's such a bitch to me," kuroo sighed, his hand falling in defeat.

"probably deserved," bokuto shrugged.

"cmon man, you're supposed to take my side," kuroo groaned. "you were my friend first, not his lover."

"we are not lovers, he's just helping me out."
