"will you calm down, this isn't as bad as you think it is, really! we already got it sorted out in the department: we get a new model sometime by next week and we'll get it all shot and done like a week before the campaign launch! you're making it sound like we're chickens running with our heads cut off!" kohona tried to reason.
as soon as the modeling department opened in the morning, bokuto and akaashi were down there trying to resolve the situation in whatever way they could. employees were bustling around trying to finish up the last of the shoots—at least what should've been the last if there hadn't been a major fuck up.
bokuto groaned, "a week before launch is cutting it way too close for comfort. i want- no, need a model on set by the end of this week! why is it taking them so long to find one anyways?"
"well after the scandal with the last model, human resources isn't allowing us to choose someone unless we go through the full length process of background checking and approval," he replied bitterly.
"shit, okay. i'll have akaashi get in touch with kaori and let her know it isn't physically possible to do a full board approval, the background check is going to have to do."
"whatever you see fit," kohona shrugged.
bokuto called over akaashi who was talking with one of the photographers. upon hearing his name he politely ended the conversation and walked over to where the two men were standing.
"yes bokuto-san?"
"i need you to get in touch with kaori in human resources asap and let her now there's no way in hell we can get board approval for the next model due to time constraints. tell her go ahead with the background check, but that's all i'm allowing. if she has any issues i'll get in contact with her."
akaashi nodded, pulling out his computer that he always had on hand and sitting down on one of the stray chairs that littered the area.
"why don't you or kuroo just model yourselves? you've done it in the past," kohona asked.
"yeah, when we were 20 and didn't have our own companies to run," bokuto snorted. "it's unprofessional to have the head of the company model for their own campaign, something about it seems...egotistical to me," he shook his head.
"i'm just trying to find quick solutions," kohona shrugged. "maybe we should just find someone good looking enough in the company who can model, then we won't need to get them background checked cause they already have to go through their monthly company one."
bokuto thought about it for a moment, "that's actually...not a half bad idea for you."
"for me!?"
"shut up i'm thinking," bokuto said ignoring kohona's protest. "i'd be perfectly okay with that. but how are we going to find someone in this company that's model material? we have over 2,000 employees in this branch alone."
in synchronized motion their heads turned towards the raven haired male who sat typing at his computer. the two looked at each before nodding, both thinking the same exact thing. the two crept towards the younger as if he were an exotic creature they were trying to catch.
akaashi took his attention of the computer, his dark green eyes glaring at them causing the two to freeze in their places.
"what do you two want?" he asked exasperatedly.
he was (unfortunately) used to their antics and not looking forward to whatever the two had come up with in the short time span.
kohona was the first to speak up, "akaashi, oh boy do we have a deal of a lifetime for you!"
akaashi stared at him unimpressed not knowing where this was going.
"you see, me and bokuto were just talking and we thought that, oh you know, it would be best if we got someone in the company to model for us since they'd already be trustworthy. isn't that right bokuto!" kohona shoved the topic into the other, obviously too chicken to continue the pitch.
"uh that's right!" bokuto added nodding. "and we thought who better to do it than our resident secretary! meaning you!"
akaashi blinked at them. "so let me get this straight, what you're asking is that you want me to model for the campaign?"
"yes, exactly!"
"no."
bokuto felt himself deflate but he regained his composure. he was determined to not give up. "cmon, it'll be fun! it's just a few shots, it won't take anything more than a few days, plus we'll give you the full salary of the model on top of your regular one!"
"i really don't want-"
kohona jumped back in, "please we really need someone for this campaign and you'd be perfect! we'll walk you through everything, modeling isn't as intimidating as it seems."
"it's not my kind of-"
"please akaashi we really need this!"
"yeah and it's super important!"
"you'd be perfect for the position-"akaashi felt himself getting more irritated as the two kept talking on top of each other trying to find any reason to convince him.
"the pay would be amazing-"
"and you'd get out of your normal job for the day, i'm sure that's super stressful-"
"it'd be like-""i said, NO."
it wasn't loud, but it was loud enough that the people in the general area stopped talking to see what the noise was about. akaashi felt himself tense up.
he let out a breath, "i'm sorry, i can't help you with this," he apologized.
he didn't meet the other's eyes as he picked up his computer.
"please excuse me," he said pushing past them not waiting for an answer.
bokuto and kohona stood in their places. they'd never seen akaashi get as fed up as he did right then.
"fuck, we blew it," kohona grunted.
