akaashi didn't know what to do as he waited for bokuto to get back from a meeting. the older insisted it wasn't important and didn't have anything to do with the task on hand, so now akaashi sat in the hotel room waiting for the other to get back. he had been watching tv for the majority of the morning, but as it crept into the next hour he was starting to get bored.

bokuto said it'd be a quick meeting but akaashi knew there was no such thing. he contemplated for a moment before standing up, finally having enough of just sitting around. he made sure to grab all his essentials before heading out of the hotel.

as he walked out onto the street he was met with a breezy summer day which was perfect for strolling. even though he lived here for the first half of his life, he didn't recognize his immediate surroundings.

the streets were busy with people bustling to complete errands or go to work. he didn't have a plan of what he was doing, so he continued walking before a small cafe grabbed his eyes. it was lit up by neon signs and had plants and other shrubbery decorating the entrance. he opened the door figuring he had nothing better to do.

he got in line, ordering for the first thing that caught his eye. it didn't take long for his food to come out considering it wasn't an extremely busy place. he sat down at a table near the window, enjoying his food and continuing to watch city patrons go to and fro.

"yoshida-san?" he heard a voice speak.

akaashi didn't recognize someone was calling for him at first before said person spoke again.

"yoshida-san?" the person repeated this time louder.

akaashi tensed, now realizing this person was in-fact calling for him. he hadn't heard someone call him that name in so long that he no longer responded to it. he reluctantly looked at who was calling for him, prepared for the worst. as he turned toward the voice he prepared his fight or flight mode, but quickly relaxed at seeing who it was.

"oh...hello kageyama."

the younger bowed, "i haven't seen you since high school."

akaashi nodded. that was probably one of the last people he expected to see if he was being honest. he gestured for kageyama to take a seat across from him seeing that the other stood awkwardly.

"ah, no it's okay. i'm just waiting for someone," he declined.

"i see. so, how have you been all these years?" akaashi asked first.

kageyama was a 1st year when he and oikawa were 3rd years. kageyama had taken a liking to oikawa and looked up to the older as kageyama himself was a rising star in the modeling world (though oikawa did not reciprocate those kind feelings).

"same old stuff. i've just been traveling and picking up gigs when i feel like it. at the moment i'm taking a break though. figured i come back here for a few days," he shrugged. "how about you yoshida-san? i haven't seen you in any tabloids since you graduated."

"actually i go by akaashi now," he said fiddling with his hands. "but i quit modeling as soon as i got out of high-school."

kageyama nodded but didn't press any further. akaashi was sure kageyama already knew why he stopped modeling. rumors spread quickly and the news of akaashi disappearing from his father's grasp was the big talk the upcoming school year. thankfully the rumors died down as no one had any proof, but he was sure people like kageyama realized that it was the truth.

"how's oikawa-san been doing? i had a shoot with him a few months back but he won't return any of my messages now," kageyama changed the subject.

akaashi felt bad him but he also wanted to chuckle. oikawa had never been a fan of kageyama, although akaashi never knew the real reason why. oikawa claimed it was because the younger was too annoying, but akaashi figured it was because he was jealous at the amount of attention kageyama got even though he was new to modeling at the time. oikawa probably didn't return any of kageyama's messages simply because he was ignoring him.
