"Do you think she'll still be so sweet on you when she figures out who you are? Your status, your sins, your... hobbies?"

Alastor shot a nasty glare at his feline friend from across the counter, aggravated by the boldness (and honesty) of the question.

"She's going to find out some day." Husk said defiantly. "And when she does, she's gonna be mad as hell that you didn't tell her."

"You act as though I won't." Alastor said flatly, his demeanor less angry but still visibly irritated.

"Why haven't you yet, then?"

Alastor broke the eye contact and looked down at his glass. Tracing his claw around the rim before encasing his hand around the drink and raising it to his lips. "... How do you confess such a thing to someone so wonderful, and expect them to accept you?"

"You know what's crazy to me?" You asked, curling up to Alastor's side as you both snuggled on the couch. It was rather late in the evening, Al had stayed over and watched one of your favorite movies with you.

"Hmm?" He wondered.

"I haven't felt this relaxed in years." You said quietly. "I'm not on guard, I'm not waiting for inevitable chaos, or sadness... I'm just enjoying the moment. Here with you..."

The bucks smile widened as he took in what you meant, he was happy you were able to unwind after all that you had been through. And he was more than pleased that he was the one you could feel this way around.

"Are you still having doubts?" He asked.

"Yes and no. They're more like afterthoughts." You hugged him tighter and took a deep breath in. "I really like you... And I'm still afraid that this is gonna blow up in my face. But it feels too wonderful to not give it a chance..."

Alastor nodded slowly, kissing the top of your head while he held you closer to him. "I don't mean to sway you or try to trudge up any unpleasant reminders, but... If you're already damned, what more have you to lose?"

"It's almost poetic, is it not?" You asked.

"How do you mean, darling?"

"The saying "till death do you part" has been said for hundreds of years. But now, a bond has been shared from each side of the grave. A human and a demon..."

"Two hearts sharing an unthinkable bond." He added.

"Alastor?"

"Yes my dear?"

"Do you see us together when my time on earth is over?"

Your question hung in the air for a moment. He swallowed hard, not wanting to acknowledge that dreadful day. He was no longer looking forward to the day your soul would be his. He knew inevitably when the time-cap on his spell ran out, you would inevitably fall into hell. He didn't know *exactly* when, but he had a general idea. And he didn't know how. If he could rescind the deal to spare you, he would in a heartbeat.

Nevertheless... As far as he was concerned, he would never treat you like he owned you. He respected you. He cared, he cared too much to ever do that to you... And if you were to spend your afterlife with him, he wanted it to be your decision.

"Until the end of time, if you'll have me."

~~~flashback over~~~
"She's gonna find out. And I'm sure she'd rather hear it from you, instead of just falling into here. All alone. With not so much as even a kind glance being tossed in her direction as she's being bombarded by posters with your face on it saying "beware the radio demon". Husk stated, slamming a bottle down onto the counter and walking away. Leaving the buck alone at the bar with nothing but liquor and his thoughts.
