You awoke to a pleasant, soft pink sunrise peaking in through your bedroom window; and a very tired, very adorable deer man laying with his head on your chest. Slowly tuning into the soft, quiet little snores emitting from him as he dozed. Sounding like gentle white-noise as he breathed, almost lulling you back to sleep.

The room was a bit toastier than it had been the past couple of weeks despite winter seeming to linger outside, the blankets barely covering your naked forms- you had shirked your clothes at some point in the middle of the night after waking up from the warmth.

You sighed sleepily and wrapped your arms around him and ran your fingers through his hair, petting and gently scratching his ears. You felt him smile against your chest as he nestled his face into you, slowly awakening, and trying to snuggle closer as if it were possible to do so. Giggling, you leaned down and kissed the top of his head as you moved your hand down back to your side.

Alastor lazily felt around on the bed, searching for your hand, when he touched upon it he took your wrist and moved your hand back to his head.

"Don't stop." He mumbled sleepily.

You giggled again, and gladly resumed petting his ears and giving him head scratches. You soon began to hear his tail swooshing back and forth from underneath the sheets.

"You know how adorable you are?" You hummed.

"I am not adorable." He murmured. Yawning softly before hugging you tighter. "But I do demand affection."

"Uh huh." You rolled your eyes. "Any work today?"

"No." He hummed happily.

"So is this what we're doing all day?"

"I don't see why not." He said with a wide, tired grin. His tail wagging a little faster; quite happy with the idea. His eyes opened slowly, lids low as he lifted his head up to look at you. "Y/n, with all things considered... Do you see yourself having a future with me?"

You propped your head up on some fluffed up pillows and looked down at him, smoothing out his tussled locks and gently sweeping his fringe from out of his eyes; glowing ruby and crimson orbs that blinked tiredly, yet looked so full to bursting with love. You smiled, nodding gently as you looked at him.

"Yes." You said softly, caressing his cheek.

"Do you mean it?" He asked, a hopeful expression on his face as he inched closer to your face.

"It's all I could think during our time apart. And the more I thought about it, as twisted as it may seem... I was willing to accept what I learned... All my heart wanted, day in and day out ,was you." You admitted quietly.

His ears slowly flattened to his head, his lower lip quivering ever so slightly. Touched by your honesty and your level of acceptance.

"I think you're the one for me, Alastor." You continued, a soft blush dusting your cheeks.

"Darling~." He sighed dreamily, a lovesick smile on his face as he leaned in and kissed you. Your heart melting into a sappy little love puddle as his lips met yours, pulling him closer to you as you wrapped your arms around him tighter. He shifted himself to lie between your legs and over top of you, reaching under you and feeling your soft skin against his hands.

You hummed into the kiss as your lips moved slowly in sync, blissfully sinking into the depths of his affection as it carried you both to cloud nine.

Another morning with doses of affection that were as addictive as nicotine. So long overdue, you both could overdose happily -if that were possible. He felt so in tune with you, skin against skin as he tangled himself up in you. Heaven couldn't offer him a damn thing better than this.
