Chapter 3: The weirdo on maple street pt. 3
Third Person POV
---------------------------------"Hey, Nat," Nancy greeted the girl as she turned to face her with a smile. "You look cute."
"Same to you guys. Looking dashing as ever," Natalie stated with a chuckle at the end.
"You two make me wanna puke," Barb commented as she was not a fan of being the type of girl to gush with one another about 'looking cute' or being 'dashing as ever.'
"Oh, lighten up, Barb," Natalie stated as Nancy turned back to the front. "The dashing as ever comment was meant for you." Barb rolled her eyes as Nancy laughed at her reaction.
"That was very nice of you, Nat."
"Why thank you, Nancy," Natalie responded as Barb pulled away from her house and drove towards Steve's place.
"In three blocks, you're gonna wanna take a right," Natalie explained to Barb, who had never drove or been to Steve's house before.
"No, wait, Barbara, pull over."
"What?" Barb questioned as she slowed the car down. Natalie gave Nancy a confused look from the back seat, not sure what her problem was.
"Pull over!" Barb pulled the car over to the side a bit more and parked the car.
"What are we doing here? It's like Natalie said, his house is three blocks away."
"We can't park in the driveway," Nancy pointed out.
"Um, why not?" Natalie asked, poking her head in between the front seats.
"Are you serious?" Barb added on.
"Yeah, the neighbours might see," Nancy commented worried.
"This is so stupid. I'm just gonna drop you two off," Barb announced as Nancy reapplied her lipstick.
"Calm down, Barb. Come on," Nancy stopped the girl from driving away. "You promised that you'd go. You're coming if Natalie is coming."
"Look, Barb, I'll be there, so we will have a great time," Natalie spoke up, trying to ease the girl into the idea of going.
"He just wants to get in your pants," Barb announced suddenly.
"I mean she's not wrong, but Steve is a sweetheart. He'd ask for permission first at least," Natalie replied, trying to calm Nancy down.
"No, he doesn't," Nancy shook her head, which made Natalie feel better.
"Nance, seriously," Barb rolled her eyes. "He invited you to his house."
"Because he's parents are out of town and he's lonely. He's got separation anxiety issues," Natalie joked causing Nancy to laugh.
"Come on, you are not this stupid."
"Tommy H. and Carol are gonna be there," Nancy pointed out to Barb. "Not to mention, Mac and Natalie..."
"Tommy and Carol have been having sex since, like, seventh grade. It'll probably just be, like, a big orgy."
"Sixth actually if you count who they slept with the year before they started-."
"Not helping," Nancy cut off Natalie.
"Right, sorry. Look, Mac and I won't be having sex. We're better than Tommy and Carol."
"Steve said you two are always making out at parties," Nancy raised an eyebrow at her best friend.
"I have a bet with Steve that I won't be making out on the couch," Natalie informed the two girls. "The parties never end with that, Steve's a liar."
"Is that so?" Barb questioned.
