Meanwhile Dustin and Natalie had made it to the bathroom first and searched for Dart. "I thought you said Will was here with it?"
"Him," Dustin scoffed, correcting Natalie, "and he said he was." Dustin kicked the last stall door open with his foot and found Dart, hiding behind the toilet. "Hey, buddy."
"Holy shit, you weren't kidding, Henderson," Natalie scoffed out in shock, peering over his shoulder to view the creature. Dustin bent down and stared at Dart in amazement.
"I told you," Dustin snapped, glaring over his shoulder towards Natalie. "Come here, you know I won't hurt you."
"Imma throw up," Natalie announced in disgust as she noticed the slime coming off of Dart as it slide/jumped into Dustin's hand. "Keep that thing away from me, alright?"
"It's okay, it's just me and Natalie. She's cool, trust me," Dustin informed Dart with a smile on his face. Dustin stood up and stretched his hand towards Natalie, who backed away in fear.
"I told you to keep that thing away from me," Natalie repeated in a whisper yell.
"It's okay," Dustin calmed down the creature in his hands that didn't like the words of Natalie.
"Let's go, down here," Mike yelled out causing Dustin to panic. Dustin immediately grabbed Natalie's jacket and shoved Dart into her inside pocket, causing the girl to flip out. The two were bickering when Max, Lucas, and Mike arrived into the bathroom.
"Where's Dart?" Mike asked, cutting off their whisper yelling.
"I dunno, not here," Dustin lied, hoping and praying that Natalie would follow his lead.
"What?"
"He said by Salerno's, right?" Max questioned the group in confusion.
"Yeah, maybe Will has him," Dustin suggested right as Natalie jumped slightly in fear as she felt Dart shift inside her jacket pocket.
"What's your problem?" Lucas questioned Natalie confused as he caught her jump.
"Oh, I through I saw a spider near my foot, but it was just mud," Natalie informed Lucas, lying for Dustin's sake.
"Where is Will?" Mike asked the group, giving up on searching each stall for Dart.
"No clue," Natalie shrugged her shoulders.
"What are you even doing here, Nat?" Lucas asked as the other three kids looked over at Natalie with a look of confusion.
"And who is she exactly?" Max added on, wanting to know more.
"Yeah, likewise, who's Red?"
"Ugh, okay," Dustin stepped forward to explain everything and hopefully move things along before he and Natalie got busted for hiding Dart. "Natalie is our friend," Dustin pointed at Natalie, who gave Max a peace sign followed by a smile, "and this is Max as in MadMax."
"Oh," Natalie nodded her head as she remembered the username, "I do remember seeing you and talking to you now that I've put a name to the face."
"You're the girl who gives me extra quarters so I can beat some loser's high score," Max replied back as the realization hit her as well.
"You helped her beat my high score!" Dustin shrieked in disbelief.
"No? I just gave her quarters, I didn't tell her to beat you high score."
