Today, Jimin and I planned to visit my sister, Hyeri, as she had just given birth to her beautiful and healthy baby girl. It was exciting to see them together, especially since I wasn't around during her pregnancy because I was working abroad. I only just got home this weekend, so this moment felt even more special. 

I still can't believe my sister found a boyfriend. She's always been so picky about guys. Since our parents passed away a few years ago—our mother in a plane crash and our father from cardiac arrest after hearing the news—we only had each other. We pushed through life together, working hard without them. 

As we grew up, we ended up going our separate ways and building our own lives. But eventually, we found each other again after all these years. Now, I have Jimin, my boyfriend. He's a songwriter and a dance choreographer, and we've been together for almost a year. 

"Love, are you done?" Jimin's deep, sweet voice echoed through the house as I was getting ready. I smiled at the thought of finally seeing my sister again after so long. 

"Who is this gorgeous woman standing right in front of me?" Jimin leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed. His stance, his tone—I found it incredibly attractive. 

"Silly." I chuckled. Despite dating for almost a year, we never really talked about marriage. It wasn't something I wanted to pressure him about. 

"It's really unexpected that Hyeri found a boyfriend," I mused, checking myself one last time in the mirror. 

"Y-Yeah," Jimin replied, but there was something off about his voice, something unusual in his expression. Was something wrong? He had been acting a little strange ever since I told him we were visiting my sister. 

Maybe I was just overthinking things. I had been stressed lately. 

"Love, is something wrong?" I asked, just to be sure. 

"Uh, no," he said quickly. "I just still have a bit of a hangover from last night. I actually opened a bottle of whiskey... Sorry for not telling you about it." His eyes met mine, filled with an emotion I couldn't quite place. 

"Oh? Is that so?" I replied. "It's fine, but you should've told me. We could've postponed and visited Hyeri tomorrow instead." 

"No, Y/N, it's totally fine. Besides, you already look stunning in that dress," he said, cupping my cheeks gently. 

"If you say so, silly." I walked past him, leaving the room. No matter what, he always knew how to make me flustered.

When we arrived at the hospital, excitement bubbled inside me. I had never been this eager in my entire life. Seeing my sister's newborn baby in person was something I had been dreaming about. Would she look like Hyeri? Or maybe take after her father? 

We already had her room number, so I rushed ahead, barely able to contain myself. 

The moment I walked in, I saw my sister holding her baby in her arms. 

"Hyeri," I breathed, stepping closer to embrace her. She looked exhausted yet absolutely radiant. "Your baby is so perfect," I whispered, gazing down at the tiny angel sleeping in her arms. 

"Congratulations," I added with a bright smile. 
"Thank you," she said, her own smile mirroring mine."I actually brought Jimin with me," I told her, motioning behind me. 

Jimin, who had been hiding behind me the entire time, finally stepped forward."Anyways, congratulations, Hyeri," he said, his voice quieter than usual. 

"Thank you for coming," she said warmly, glancing at the bag of fruits we had brought along. "You even brought a lot of fruits?" She chuckled. "That was Jimin's idea," I admitted. He had reminded me to buy them before coming.

AUTHOR'S POV:

While Y/N and Hyeri talked, an older nurse in her 50s entered the room. She had a gentle presence, but the moment she stepped inside, her eyes landed directly on Jimin. 

"Oh, good to see you again, young man," she greeted with familiarity.  Y/N frowned, confused. 

"Again?" she asked, glancing between Jimin and the nurse. The nurse nodded with a warm smile. 

"Yes, he was here a few months ago for the baby's ultrasound," she said, patting Jimin's back. "Congratulations on becoming a father." 

The room fell into complete silence. 

The nurse, unaware of the storm she had just unleashed, simply walked out, leaving them alone. 

Little did she know, she had just exposed the most heartbreaking secret.
