When his girl best friend kissed him on the cheek while he was having a dinner date with you.

My boyfriend planned a dinner date for us tonight, something we haven't had in a long time. With my packed schedule as a doctor, it's been nearly impossible to make time for him, let alone for myself. But somehow, he made it happen.

"Do you remember this restaurant?" Jimin asked with a wink as we pulled up to the cozy little place. Of course I remembered. This was where we had our first date.

I smiled warmly. "Yes, Chim." He leaned in closer with a smirk. "And how about that hotel next door?" I froze for a second, my cheeks heating up. He remembered that too?

That hotel... the one where things escalated between us for the first time. I chuckled, trying to hide my flustered expression. "I almost forgot."

Jimin laughed and gently guided me inside to our usual table. Nothing had changed, not the ambiance, not the scent of roasted garlic and fresh herbs in the air, and definitely not the butterflies I felt sitting across from him.

"I ordered your favorite dish," he said, smiling. Of course he remembered. He always did. Meanwhile, I could barely keep track of what day it was because of work. He's always been the thoughtful one.

Just then, a loud and unmistakably high-pitched voice pierced the cozy air. "Oppa!"

Jimin and I both turned. His eyes widened. "J-Jia?" You have got to be kidding me.

Hwang Jia, Jimin's infamous girl best friend. If there were an award for being the most annoying third wheel on the planet, she'd win it every year.

Jia had a habit of sticking to Jimin like glue, always acting overly sweet and innocent especially when I was around. I thought she'd moved abroad years ago. I had hoped I'd never have to see her face again.

"Hi oppa, I can't believe I ran into you here. Oh—hi Y/N." She forced a smile. I rolled my eyes. "Didn't expect you to be here either."

Jimin chuckled nervously. Clearly, even he didn't know how to handle the situation. "W-What are you doing here?" he asked.

Seriously? She asked that?

"We're on a dinner date," I replied with a polite smile, masking my irritation. "You know... eating food? Like what people do at restaurants?"

Jia blinked, seemingly caught off guard. "Oh. I didn't expect that." Of course you didn't, I thought. You never expect Jimin to have a life that doesn't revolve around you.

"I gotta go, oppa. My friends are waiting. Maybe next time we can have dinner, just the two of us," she added, deliberately emphasizing the word 'us.'

Before I could react, she leaned in and planted a kiss on Jimin's cheek.

Excuse me?!

My fists clenched under the table, but I forced myself to take a deep breath. Not here. Not now. I shot a look in her direction, silently mouthing, See you in heaven, with the kind of stare that would've frozen hell.

"Y/N?" Jimin said cautiously. I turned to him calmly. "Yes?"

"I'm... sorry about that. Jia caught me off guard."

"It's totally fine," I said, though my voice was edged with warning. "But next time, don't let her come near me or us. She's getting on my nerves."

Jimin sighed and scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah... noted." He looked genuinely apologetic, and I knew he didn't mean for that to happen. Still, the night had taken a turn. Jia had a way of doing that.
