Finding out he beat someone again because they talk bad behind your back | mafia boyfriend.

Wandering around the school felt like drifting through a nightmare. I should've just stayed home if I couldn't handle the hateful stares from my classmates.

I've always been the type who can't stand being the center of attention. Even a glance from someone I'm not comfortable with is enough to send my anxiety spiraling.

As I was lost in my thoughts, someone suddenly jumped out of nowhere, nearly making my heart stop.

"Your reaction is priceless!" Seojun laughed loudly.

She always does this, trying to scare me for fun. Still, she's the only friend I have at this school. Well, her and my boyfriend.

Yes, me. The quiet girl. I have a boyfriend. And not just any boyfriend, Park Jimin. Handsome, mysterious... and a member of the mafia.

There's a part of me that wishes he'd leave that life behind. But I know how deeply he's rooted in it. For now, I wait, hoping someday he'll choose a safer path.

"Did you hear?" Seojun said suddenly, pulling me out of my thoughts. "There's a rumor going around campus... Park Jimin beat someone up again."

I froze.

What? No. He promised me he wouldn't get into fights anymore. Why would he—?

I need to talk to him.

Seojun doesn't know that Jimin and I are together. It's not that we don't trust her, but the fewer people who know, the safer it is for everyone. Jimin always insists on protecting me first.

I forced a shocked expression. "What? Are you serious?"

"Yeah. Not surprised, huh?" she raised a brow. "Some people say it's about him or maybe even his secret girlfriend. Wonder who she is?"

She looked up, deep in thought.

If only she knew Jimin's girlfriend is standing right beside her. It's been a year since we started keeping our relationship under wraps.

"I have to go. I'll see you in class!" I said quickly, spotting Jimin entering the school gates.

"But Y/N—okay, don't be late!" she called after me.

There he was. Everyone in the hallway parted like the Red Sea, afraid to get too close to him. They only saw danger in his eyes.

But to me? He looked like a pouty baby.

I subtly signaled him to meet me at our spot an abandoned building near the edge of campus, where no one ever goes. It's quiet, private, and ours.

By the time I got there and sat on the bench, he was already on his way.

"Is something wrong?" he asked softly as he approached.

I shot him a sharp look. "There's a rumor going around that you beat someone again." His face fell. That confirmed everything.

"I'm sorry," he said quietly, eyes cast downward. "Why?" I asked, crossing my arms. "They were talking crap behind your back," he muttered, scratching the back of his neck. "You remember Mark and his little gang?"

Mark. The same guy who always borrowed my notes and pretended to be nice? I nodded slowly.

"Yeah, I remember. But that's not a reason to beat someone up," I said.

"You're lucky I love you," he replied. "Because if I didn't, I would've really gone off on that guy." He looked scary when he was mad, but I knew his anger was rooted in love.

"It's okay," I said gently, pulling him into a hug. "People will always talk, but that doesn't mean you have to fight every battle. You broke your promise to me." I kissed him softly on the lips.

"I know... I'm sorry," he sighed. "But I really did try. I just couldn't let them get away with it." He rolled his eyes, his usual sass returning.

"You really have a short temper," I chuckled. "You know I love you, right?" he said, holding my face in his hands. "And I'll protect you, no matter what. I'm a man of my word."

"I know," I whispered, pressing my forehead against his. "And I love you more than anything, Jimin."

And I meant it. No matter what the world saw in him, he was mine, and I was his.
