When he unexpectedly bring a girl at your home | as your arranged husband.
—
I sat on the sofa, unsure of what I was doing or even what I was feeling. I was waiting for my husband, the man I had been arranged to marry, a man who didn't have a single feeling for me.
It's been a month since the wedding, a decision I agreed to more out of pressure than desire. My parents never truly trusted me to make the right choices. Maybe that's why they pushed me into this arranged marriage with the wealthiest heir in South Korea.
I never asked for much, just a simple life with someone I could love. But that dream shattered the moment I said "I do" to a stranger.
Park Jimin.
He has everything. Money, power, the perfect last name. But he can't spare even a little time for his wife. He spends his nights out at bars, laughing, drinking, maybe flirting... while I stay in this cold, silent house, doing chores and wondering what I ever did to deserve this.
Did my parents really think this was the best path for me? Was this their plan all along? I feel trapped, even if there are no chains holding me down. My heart feels locked away in a life I never asked for.
At first, I didn't pity Jimin at all. When our parents introduced us, I thought he was just another coward hiding behind a charming smile. But over time, he started showing small gestures of care. He'd ask if I ate. He'd bring me tea when I had headaches. Still, I knew he didn't like my cold attitude and honestly, I didn't care.
But somewhere along the line, I made the biggest mistake of all, I started falling in love with him.
Why does he keep treating me like I matter, when we're just in a loveless arrangement? Is he just being polite? Or is he as confused as I am?
My spiraling thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the front door opening.
He's home.
But... not alone.
He walked in with her. A girl.
My stomach twisted.
He didn't even flinch when he saw me. Just stood there, casually placing his hand on her waist like he was claiming her.
I didn't react, not outwardly. I kept my face calm, composed, numb. She was beautiful. Of course she was.
"You're home," I said flatly. "I'll sleep in the guest room tonight. You two can have the space." Without another word, I turned and headed upstairs.
It hurt. God, it hurt. Why did it hurt so much? I thought we were nothing. But I guess I already knew, I love him. And now I had to accept that I was alone in this. As I reached the top of the stairs, I heard her ask, "Who's that? Your sister?"
"No," Jimin replied shortly. I glanced down. His face was unreadable, but his eyes, they looked... sad.
A few minutes later...
I sat on the edge of our bed, staring at nothing. My heart was heavy, my thoughts scattered. That's when I heard a loud bang, the sound of the basement door swinging open.
I jumped to my feet and rushed to open the bedroom door. "Jimin?" I gasped, startled to see him storming in, his hair messy, a deep frown on his face.
He didn't say a word. He just pushed the door closed behind him and gently backed me into the room.
"What about the girl?" I asked, confused and breathless. "She's gone," he replied. "Why? What's going on?" He stared at me, then asked, "You're not jealous?"
The question caught me off guard. "Why would I be?" I looked away, refusing to meet his eyes. "You are," he said quietly. "I saw it in your face."
"What are you trying to say?" He sighed. "Taehyung set me up with her. It was all a plan... to make you jealous. I didn't think you cared about me at all. I thought this was just a cold, formal arrangement to you."
I swallowed hard, the truth clawing its way up my throat. "I do care, Jimin. I just... I always thought you wouldn't want someone like me. You're rich. You're powerful. You're everything... and I'm just me."
His eyes softened. "Y/N, I love you. I've loved you since the first time you didn't pretend to be someone else. I wanted to say it before, but I was scared you didn't feel the same. But now I know."
He stepped closer and wrapped his arms around me, for the first time, willingly, tenderly.
"I love you too, Jimin," I whispered, holding him tightly. And for a moment, everything felt right.
