~Rome POV~
It has been a week from since I have seen or talked to Christian. I waited on a call or text from her and not one came through. I thought my phone had no internet or it was acting up, but she really hadn't spoken to me at all. I know that the phone works both ways, but I really wanted her to text me first. To tell me how much she enjoyed her time with me. To ask to do it again. None of that happened.
I was about to text her for the first time since we hung out when a message popped up from Mallory asking when we can hang out for the project. I responded to let her know that we can do it today since I am free and she agreed. I quickly sent a text to Christian asking if everything is okay and hoped for a reply by the time I got to Mallory's house.
I had told my dad I was heading out to do the project with a friend and got in my car and went on my way to Mallory's house.

It was my first time here and I was unsure on what to do. I didn't know if we were doing the project here at her house or in a more public location. I got out of my jeep and walked towards her front door with my school bag in hand. I gently tapped on the door waiting for an answer.
I heard her shout out a "coming!" And I waited until the door was opened. I was greeted by her with her hair in a messy bun and a long baggy shirt that basically covered her knees and made it look like she had no shorts on. I smiled and waved unsure if to enter or not.
"Oh right! Come in!" She brushed her palms on her shirt and directed me to her bedroom. "Oh. Wait we are doing this at your house?" I asked. "Doing what?" She looks confused then looks down at my hands and realizes. "Oh right! Yes yes! I thought it would be easier instead of driving to anywhere else to find a quiet spot." She breathed out. For some reason she seemed really nervous. She led me to her room which smelled of vanilla and a whiff of some kind of perfume she sprayed because it came on strong to my nostrils.
"Alright, so I was unsure of what to bring so I basically brought all that I could," I picked everything that I brought out of my backpack and placed it in the middle of the floor where we can sit and get comfortable.
"Great! Before we start would you like anything to drink?" She questioned as if she was hoping to get out of my presence to catch a breather for a minute.
"Yes please." I agreed even though I really wasn't thirsty. I felt as if it was best for her to do whatever she needs to do. I don't know why she seems so nervous right now. I mean it was only her and I at her house right now. Alone. As a matter of fact, where are her parents?
I made a mental note to ask her about it once she comes back. I looked around her pink and white room that was neatly decorated. Everything just was so neat and in place. I am guessing she doesn't like to be placed in a dirty room. I had touched her stuffed animal of a Pikachu that she had sitting in the corner of her room. I actually used to play Pokémon so I found it fascinating.
I heard footsteps coming back my way and dropped the Pikachu back in place and waited for her to enter. "Here you go," She smiled and seemed to have more of a calm aroma around her. "Thank you Mallory," I took a sip of the drink she brought me and quickly realized it was orange juice. I was about to take another sip when my phone went off with a ping. I was praying to God that it was Christian.
I opened up my phone and saw 3 messages from Christian and smiled to myself.
"Girlfriend?" I heard Mallory ask and I looked up from my phone with the stupid smirk still on my face.
"No. Just a good friend of mine." I read her messages which were her apologizing and explaining that she thinks we should stop talking. I was definitely confused and not sure what all of this was about. We kissed, but if she doesn't want to do that anymore then that's okay. I respect it.
"Can you give me a second, I just have to make a call?" I wiped the sweat off of my forehead and looked at her in the eyes hoping she understands. "Sure. No problem. Take your time." She smiled and I walked outside of her room and to the kitchen area where she wouldn't be able to hear what I have to say.
Its not that I'm trying to hide anything, I just specifically prefer to not have anyone listening to my conversations. I had opened my phone again and clicked on Christian name and called her up. I listened to the phone ring 4 times before I finally heard her soft voice come through the other line.
"Hey. What's going on? What are you talking about in these messages? If you regret that kiss I promise we don't have to do it again." I calmly let her know and wait for a reply. There was silence for a while until I heard her sigh as if she was regretting what she said to me.
"I..." she sounded unsure of what to say. I waited patiently for her to speak hoping she would still allow us to talk. "I'm sorry. I don't know what was going through my mind. I don't regret it, I'm sorry. I liked it actually, I really liked it." It was like she grew this confidence to tell me how she feels and what she feels.
"Me too." I smiled and wanted to meet up with her right now so we can hang out and talk, but I knew that I had to get this project done with Mallory first.
"Where are you? We can talk somewhere if that's fine with you?" She asked and I had an internal battle with myself to completely ditch Mallory. I definitely have feelings for Christian and I know it, but I do need to finish this project sadly.
"I'm actually by a friend of mine to do a project. Um Mallory. When I am done here then I can come pick you up?" I gulped afraid of her response.
"Oh." Then there was silence again. "We can hang out another time then, it's fine. Um. Enjoy your day Rome," She ended the line quickly before I was able to respond back. I contemplated on calling her back but decided to give her space.
I know that we are just friends and a kiss does not change our relationship status at all, but I can't help but think that she responded so abruptly out of jealousy maybe.
