~Rome POV~

"I got it mom, don't worry." I grabbed the knife out her her hand and began cutting the tomatoes into small pieces for her.

"Thank you baby." She kissed my forehead and I gave her a kiss back. My mom has been gone for about 3 years and to see her after a long time has been the best feeling in my life. The time that she has spent here has made me the happiest.

She comes over here every once in a while mainly when dad isn't home to spend time with me.

I looked over at my phone to see a missed call from Christian. "Hey mom, I'm just going to take a call real quick can I come back to do this for you?" I asked as I shook my phone in my hand.

"Yeah, go ahead." She took the knife out of my hand and went back to what she was doing. I walked to my room and called Christian. The phone line went to voicemail and I called once more.

"Hey." She whispered in a voice indicating that she just woke up. "Hey, I'm sorry were you sleeping? I just saw your missed call, I was in the kitchen helping my mom."

"I was but I'm awake now that I'm talking to you. I actually called because I was wondering if you wanted to spend some time together but you texted earlier that you are with your mom so it's no problem. I had forgotten."

"Uh... you can come over." I fitted in even though I'm realizing that I am basically introducing her to my mom and possibly my dad. "No Rome. Aren't you spending time with your mom? Don't do that to try to fit me in. I promise it's okay," She winced.

"Christian you can come. You aren't taking time away from us. As a matter of fact I'm sure my mom will love you." I crossed my fingers hoping she would say yes.

"Rome... it's too early," She whispered and I looked over at the clock hanging on my wall. "It doesn't look too early to me."

"I mean introducing me to your mom." She had hesitation laced in her tone and I looked around the room not knowing what to say. "You're my girlfriend Christian. You are going to meet my parents at some point. Why not now?" I grinned and I heard a exhale on the other end.

"Are you sure, I don't know... I just, what if she doesn't like me? Or the way I look? I mean what if she gets upset with something that I do that I didn't know would be a problem? I don't know Rome. We need to slow down a bit, we could be moving too fast. I just-"

I interrupted her outburst of thoughts. "Stop Christian. You're beautiful and I am more than happy to introduce you to my mom so she can see. My brother would love you also. I promise you are the most beautiful girl I've ever laid my eyes on Christian. Don't overthink like that. Come over. Please. I do not think we are moving fast, this is just my parents Christian," I pleaded.

"Okay. Let me just get dressed. I will text you when I get there."

I sent my location to her and She hung up and I went back out in the kitchen to help my mom.

My nose was blessed with the pleasant aroma of fettuccine and garlic bread diffused throughout the entire house. My dad was supposed to be home an hour ago, but my guess is he got stuck in traffic or was held back by work.

"That smells amazing!" I exclaimed with hunger in my eyes. I took a piece of the fettuccine up with my fingers and I felt a dry rag hit me in the back of my head.

"Go wash your hands Rome! And call your brother, he's been on that game all day." She shouted and I laughed.

"Yes ma'am. Oh and mom?" I stopped in my tracks remembering to ask about Christian coming over. Would you be comfortable if... I invited someone over?" I questioned.

"Someone?" She raised an eyebrow waiting for me to explain.

"My girlfriend." I rubbed up and down my arm as sweat coated my forehead. Her eyes went up in shock and I raised my eyes too confused on what was going through her head right now.

"You have a girlfriend already!? I'm so happy baby. Of course she can come I would like to meet her. Is she a Christian as well?" She asked and a small smile played on my lip.

"She is actually and her name is also coincidentally Christian. Pretty cool huh?" I chuckled and she nodded her head with a huge beam on her face. Christian definitely isn't a good example of a Christian though, but it is not my place to judge anything on her.

"Alright, I'm going to get dressed. Thank you mom." I kissed her forehead and went to my room to get dressed. I found a simple black tee with black sweatpants and my adidas slides. It is a basic outfit, but it is not like I am going on a date or anything with Christian. I want to be comfortable and I hope she comes dressed comfortable as well.
