~Rome POV~

I placed my keys in the key container and walked past my mom and went straight towards my room. I was upset. She jumped to conclusions quickly and it made me angry. I didn't reach home until two or three hours later because instead of going straight home I decided to drive around to calm down. I decided to wait on a call or even a text from her because I feel as if she needs to hold at least some accountability for her actions. I also need to apologize for not telling her or even letting her know that I helped Mallory.

I didn't think it would be a big problem, but the way that she acted indicated otherwise. I thought that she had probably calmed down by now from since I took her home and I chose to put my pride aside and text her first. What kind of example would I be setting if I held off and decided to wait on a text from her.

Me: I am sorry.

I sent the message and went to make something to eat while I wait for a reply back. To be honest, I was in the wrong because I should have mentioned it to her, but she was also in the wrong and the jumping to conclusions in our relationship should not be happening. I do not appreciate being accused and not even that, but I am the first to apologize. I know I hurt her, but I do not understand why she reacted so abrupt.

I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and sat down on my ps4 playing rocket league. It is probably the best time killer because I sent my text message 10 minutes ago and there is still no response. I am positive she has seen my message and just chooses not to reply which is fine. If she wants time to herself that is okay or even if she does not want to talk to me right now that is also okay.

I will give her the space she needs, but I feel as if we need to really talk. Not only on what happened, but why she was so quick to react. The more I think about it, the more it clouds my mind that her reaction just seemed out of sorts. She got angry so quickly.

~~

I think I have been playing rocket league for at least 3 hours because last time I checked, I do not remember it being 5:00 in the afternoon. There is still no response from I last texted so I gave in and called. It rung, but there was no answer. I called once more, but no answer again. This is getting unnecessary at this point. "Come on Christian, just talk to me," I muttered to myself.

My mom came in my room telling me to come down for dinner. I turned my play station off and headed downstairs and took a seat at the dining table. I brought my phone with me just incase Christian decides to interrupt our dinner and finally call or text me back. My dad was here, but the distance between my parents is unbearable. They make it so obvious that they want nothing to do with each other. My mom set my plate in front of me which had mashed potato and barbecue chicken and it smelled so good. I took a bite and a moan slipped from my mouth how good it was.

"Rome, how is Christian?" My mom asked. I stuffed more food in my mouth to stall a little longer from answering the question and to think about my answer. "She's gwood," I said with a mouthful of mashed potato.

"Are you going to invite her over for my birthday tomorrow? I would like to see her," My mom smiles and I did not want to explain anything so I just nodded my head yes. My mom literally asks about Christian everyday which is fine, she does stay in a hotel, but that does not stop her from calling me to talk and then later on ask about Christian. She really does like her.

"Rome, you trying to hit some league?" Isaac asks just as mom was about to start talking. "Yeah," I agreed and gathered everyone plates to place into the sink. I got to my room and turned the game back on hoping to kill some more time as I wait for Christian to respond.
