A/N: I'm slightly concerned that I'm changing tenses too much in my chapters, so just bare with me, I will try to be as consistent as I can. Otherwise, at some point, I'll edit this book and make sure all the tenses are uniform but for now, let's enjoy the next instalment! I think writing every other day is definitely a more feasible schedule, as it's allowing me time to focus on writing decent content.

Sunlight peaked through the gaps in the worn curtains, as you stirred in your from your sleep. You had not been quite ready to wake up yet, having found yourself still wrapped in Eddie's warm embrace. The surrounding atmosphere held a familiar chill to it, which only made you snuggle closer to your bedfellow. Feeling your fidgeting, had jostled the brunet awake and earnt you a groan in disapproval.
Eddie buried his face in the crook of your neck, psyching himself up to face the bright morning light. "Hey." he rasped, breath warm upon your skin, causing goosepimples and a shiver to run down your spin at the contact.
Lazy fingers were brought up to his abundance of locks, as you tenderly played with his hair "Hey."
"You sleep okay?"
"Better, yeah. You?"
He hummed in agreement, as he melted into your touch. He did not want to get used to waking up beside you every day but damn, he could get used to it if you did. There was something particularly wonderful about the first sight for his weary eyes, being you wearing his hellfire t-shirt as a pyjama top.
His hand found your waist, as he gave it a light squeeze, to signify that you needed to move. "Come on, time to start the day."
A feeling of dread sat heavy in the pit if your stomach. Getting out of bed had always been the most difficult part of your routine and the mere thought of leaving your safehaven on the spfa, had you paralysed with fear. "I don't know if I can, Eds."
The sound of apprehension in your tone, had Eddie already thinking two steps ahead of how best to ease you into the day ahead. "Baby steps, remember? Breakfast first, we can worry about the rest after." he coaxed you, slowly pulling the sheets off of your clothed forms.
"'Worry about the rest after.'" you repeated his words, mulling them over in your mind.
"Exactly," he grinned. "So, as much as I'd love to stay on the sofa all day, it's time to get up." the brunet was always such a tease and as much as he would not admit it always, he had always been the best at knowing how to stop your overthinking. Not that he would ever admit to that, he always assumed that you were the more caring one in your relationship but in a heartbeat, you would disagree and say it had always been equal.
"You know, I miss the old, unproductive version of Eddie." you retorted with a scoff, but there was no malice behind your words.
"What can I say? I'm a changed man." he stated with a wink in your direction, which only caused you to further groan in annoyance.
Leaving him to assemble breakfast, you took a quick shower and allowed the barely hot water to wash away any anxieties you were feeling about the day ahead. Baby steps, you kept telling yourself to keep the overwhelming feeling, building up in your sternum, at bay. One step at a time. First, shower. Next, get dressed. After that, breakfast. You ran through your mental to do list, checking off each step, as you slowly worked through your morning routine.
When you eventually made your way back into the kitchen, you were indeed met with the familiar smell of burnt toast but were surprised to find Eddie alreasy dressed and seemingly ready to leave the trailer. "Hey, sweetheart. Slight change of plans for the day."
