A/N: So, I didn't realise that it has been over a year since I started writing this book. In the early days, I was able to write a chapter a day. Now, updates are somewhat less frequent, but thanks to your continued support, the motivation to write has not left me. Whether you've been here since the beginning or joined along for the journey only recently, thank you for the continued support. May you enjoy the future chapters.

The kiss could not have lasted for more than mere seconds, and yet, for the two lovers, it had felt like an eternity since they had fallen into one another's embrace. Eventually, they parted, only to be met with a familiar pang of longing that had taken residence within their chests and threatened to draw them back together for another shared gesture of affection. Despite the overwhelming desire to lose more time in memorising the others' lips, one of the two enamoured party had to regain their senses and put an end to their moment of absolute indulgence. If anyone ever came to learn of the entanglement, heads would roll and both individuals were quite fond of having their bodies remain unharmed.

But Chrissy wanted nothing more than to kiss Robin again. She wanted to gently cup the video store employee's face in her palms, to whisper the most poetic of adorations, before luxuriating in kiss, after kiss, after kiss. Until they were both breathless but barely even satiated.

The blonde had never felt such intense emotions towards another person. With Jason, kisses a currency always paid in exchange for her safety. Whether that be from fists or words. Chrissy was not sure anymore which one was worse. Both caused her to equally suffer. The mental scars bled into her day to day thoughts, just as the bruises and cuts more her physical appearance.

They broke away from one another far too soon for either of their liking.

The cheerleader almost felt bereft at the loss of contact, when Robin finally pulled away from her touch. The space between them was a mere inches, yet it may as well have been miles. It was lonely out there on her own. "W-We should go." Robin cleared her throat, blushing a furious shade of red at how hoarse her voice sounded after their intense exchange. Chrissy could have simply melted at the sound. She had done that, she had made Robin Buckley's voice crack from just a heated kiss. "Someone...Someone could see you. And I-" looking at the blonde made the video store employee's heart constrict with painful regret.

She did not want for them to go their seperate ways but Robin was no fool but an extreme realist. She was well aware of what a town like Hawkins could do to a couple of Queer kids. It had isolated Eddie simply because he liked loud music and nerd shit. It had turned a blind eye to Billy's racism towards Lucas, just because his skin tone did not match up with their conservative values. Lastly, it had driven you away. You, who was so similar to Chrissy. You had both suffered from a severe case of neglective parents. Even after you had fled the unpleasant household, you could not escape your demons and so, in a last ditch attempt to retain your sanity, you had got the hell out of dodge and nade your way to California. "I don't want you to suffer because of me." her gazed dropped, as she stared down at their entwined hands.

So, this was what holding hands with the girl of your dreams feels like, she mused bitterly. Steve had always had to describe the gesture to her, since she had never had an window of opportunity herself. Now that Robin had gotten the chance, she was reluctant to let go. But her mind had a stronghold over her heart, as she tried to untangle herself from Chrissy's grip. "I'm not worth the added pain."

But the blonde did not feel like relenting her adoring hold upon the resigned, young woman. "What if I think you're worth it, huh?" she questioned. The uncharacteristic reaction had Robin pausing her escape and regarding Chrissy with a frown. This was not the usual doe-eyed, meek sweetheart that the rest of Hawkins had come to place on a pedastal. "Do I not get a say in how I spend my time?" she huffed, toying with the collar of Robin's shirt. "Or who I spend my time with..."
