"Cortez, you're drunk."

I tried to act tough pero ang totoo I was so much lost for her words, kung nakatayo lang ako ay baka tumumba na ako because of her making my knees go weak, this is not me! No one could ever have this effect on me, what made her so special.

"Ha?" Tanong niya sa'kin. "Hindi, ah!"

"You keep telling weird things," Puna ko at tsaka ko siya kinurot sa braso. "You're really drunk."

"Hindi po ako lasing, I'm just... nahihilo lang po ako." Tumatawa siya at patuloy na iniinis ako. "My head's hurting right now."

"Really, why don't you cut off your head?" I suggested. "Para hindi na masakit."

"Ang sungit talaga." Bulong niya.

We stayed quiet for minutes, she was closing her eyes. I was just looking at the waves of the sea, it's calming when it's night by the sea. I like it. I took a glance at her again 'nung maramdaman ko ang paghiga niya, humiga siya sa buhanginan habang nakapikit pa rin ang mga mata niya.

"My head hurts, I wanna sleep." She complained.

"Get up Cortez, you might get sand all over you." Utos ko naman pero umiling siya kasabay nga pag angal niya sa sinabi ko. "You are so stubborn!"

"No..."

"Sinabi ko na sayo 'di ba? Kapag naglasing ka hindi na kita responsibilidad, why are you so stubborn kasi at ako naman ang pinapahirapan mo!"

Sa hinaba-haba ng sermon ko ay hindi man lang siya sumagot and I was only interrupted 'nung nagring ang phone ko, indicating that someone was calling. Tumingin ako sa caller's id ng cellphone ko. Samantha's calling, agad kong sinagot ang tawag niya sa'kin bago ko ilapit sa tenga 'yong phone.

"Oh, Sam? Bakit?" Nakita kong nagmulat ng mata si Cortez nang marinig niya ang pangalan ni Sam, pumikit rin naman siya pagkatapos akong silipin.

[Ate, where are you?] I heard my sister's voice.

"I'm outside, I'm with..." Tumingin ako sa katabi ko, she was still closing her eyes. "I'm outside, yeah. What's wrong?"

[Well, we're taking the girls sa room nila, they're already drunk. So, don't bother looking for them, ate...] She informed me with her calm voice. [Celestine! Umayos ka nga!] I heard Brianna's voice,

"Okay, Sam, thank you." I said. "Tell Brianna I said thanks too." I ended the call.

I faced Cortez and she was still closing her eyes, this time ay nakaunan siya sa dalawang braso niya. I shook my head in annoyance, this girl is a pain in the ass really. Drunk headed.

I was silently sitting on the sand when suddenly Cortez pulled me, making me startled. Susubukan niya sana akong hilahin para makahiga ako sa tabi niya but my reflexes was fast at hinawi ko agad ang kamay niya.

"Lay with me for a few minutes, ma'am."

"No, stop it." I firmly said as I remain sitting. "It's dirty there, I would get sand all over me."
