Chapter 16

"Goodmorning, Avery!"

Bumungad sa'kin ang mga mukha nila Sefanie at Brianna sa loob ng faculty, ang aga nila ah. Silang dalawa lamang ang nandito at mukhang naguusap pa sila 'nung pumasok ako.

"Mukhang nagising kayo ng maaga, ah?" Bati ko sakanilang dalawa, nilapag ko ang mga gamit ko sa desk ko bago humarap sakanila. "Nasan sila, Celes? Hindi niyo kasabay?"

"Okay kalang?" She popped a question.

Kumunot ang noo ko sa tanong ni Sefanie, I sarcastically laughed at her, bakit ba siya nagtatanong ng ganon ngayon? I look normal.

"What? Silly, of course. Why wouldn't I be?"

"What happend?" Seryoso ang mukha niya, "I know something's up, don't try to pretend, Morgan."

"Sefanie Hazel, nothing's going on. Stop that." I shrugged at her, bumaling ako sa desk ko para maka-iwas ng tingin sakanya.

"Did you two fought?" I heard her from behind me.

"Nino?" I asked innocently.

"Nino?" Pang-gagaya niya. "Don't try to fool me, ano ngang nangyari? Nagaway ba kayo ni Amara?"

"Can we not talk about her?" I sighed.

"Hindi siya umuwi kagabi, I had to lie and cover for her dahil hindi siya nagpaalam kila tita, they were worried," She informed me. "Pinuntahan ko siya sa condo niya, but she wasn't there."

"What? That stupid brat." I whispered.

Hindi siya umuwi? Where could she have gone to? I don't care, I won't care right now. Maybe she's with her lover last night, having fun with her.

"Guys, Lori just texted me, tara na raw sa field?"

Tumayo ako at diretsong lumabas ng faculty, hindi na ako nag-abalang tumingin pa kay Brianna at Sefanie, I don't wanna talk about her. I wanted to avoid her and that topic.

Sa totoo lang ay ayokong pumunta dito, I don't  wanna see her but I had no choice, she was my student and in every student ay dapat nandon ang Professor ng each department.

"Good day, students! I am Miss Loriel Gray, the incharge of this event and we will now start the talent show by the first year representatives!"

The crowd cheered 'nung magsimula ang event at lumabas ang mga kasali dito na first years, I saw Cortez sitting on a chair at the corner of the back stage, her arms are fidgeting on her phone, like she's nervous.

I sat two chairs apart beside her, I kept my head high at sa unahan lamang ako naka-tingin kahit na ramdam ko ang mga titig niya sa'kin.

"Ma'am." I heard her voice.

Hindi ako lumingon sakanya, I couldn't risk it.

"Kausapin mo 'ko." She whispered. "You can't keep avoiding me, Avery. You know that."

"Miss Ferrer, that's what you'll address me." I muttered, seryoso ang mukha ko. "Don't call me any names. Hindi tayo close, remember?"

"Sorry... ma'am," She spoke. "Hear me out first, okay? Just, just let me explain."

"No, you better shut up."

Walang nagsalita samin at tahimik lang kaming na-nonood sa mga nag-perform, this talent show wasn't really necessary dahil wala namang premyo dito they just wanna have some fun with the students.
