Chapter 23

"Drive safely."

Tumingin siya sa'kin at binigyan ako ng thumb's up. I waited for her to walk up to the elevator bago ko sinara ang pintuan ng unit ko, then I went to take a warm bath and after it I went to sleep.

Hindi ko na namalayang nakatulog na pala ako at nagising nalang ako sa tunog ng alarm ko. When I got up it was just already six-thirty o'clock and my class was at eight today. I got ready for my work, 'nung makatapos akong maligo ay humarap ako sa salamin para tingnan ang sarili ko.

I instantly saw the mark on my neck, it was not red anymore at medyo violet na siya. It was like a bruise. Kaagad akong naghanap ng foundation sa make up kit ko and when I saw one ay kumunot pa rin ang noo ko, it wasn't waterproof so matatanggal rin siya kapag pinawisan ako.

"Shit." I cursed out.

I went towards my closet to see what I can wear, dahil hindi pa din naman ako nakakapag bihis at nakasuot lang ako ng bath robe. I surveyed my closet and I found some of my turtle neck longsleeves, I grabbed a few of it tsaka ko ito ibinaba sa kama ko.

Nakatayo ako sa tapat ng kama while trying to figure out what I should wear, I was looking at the three turtle necks. My option was Gray, White and Beige. I tried it all out and I have chosen the beige one because it suits me well, kinuha ko na din ang black fitted slacks ko at sinuot 'yon. It was a bit hot wearing this, 'buti nalang at may aircon naman through every classroom kaya hindi 'yon problema.

I tucked in my longsleeve to my slacks while rolling up the sleeves of it, tsaka ko sinuot ang sapatos ko. I fixed my make up and I let my hair fall on it's original waves, I made a final review of myself on the mirror bago ko kuhanin ang mga gamit ko para lumabas ng condo.

Everyone was greeting me when I entered the university but I was just greeting them with a simple lift of my eyebrows. I walked into the faculty room, nang makapasok ako ay kitang-kita ko ang mga mukha nilang naguguluhang nakatingin sa'kin.

"What?" Kaswal na tanong ko.

"Bakit ka naka-ganyan? Are you cold o may sakit ka ba?" Beatriz was the first one to ask.

Is she referring to what I was wearing? How do I tell her na kaya ako naka-ganito ay dahil sa marka ng pinsan niya sa leeg ko! This is all her fault!

"Uh, I'm okay. I just felt cold lang." Naiilang na sagot ko naman but she gave me a not convinced look.

"Ang init kaya, nilalamig ka?" I heard Sefanie.

I was about to answer pero may nauna ng sumagot sa'kin. "Let her wear what she wants, fully air conditioning naman ang campus kaya hindi siya maiinitan."

"See," Bumaling ako sakanila at tinaasan ko sila ng kilay, they shrugged after what Brianna said. "She gets me."

I'm thankful dahil sa biglaang pag sabat ni Brianna, to be honest I really don't know what I was gonna say to them. It's really hot wearing this but I have no choice.

"Baka may sakit ka, ah? Dapat hindi ka na muna pumasok." This time ay si Loriel ang nagsalita at bahagya pang lumapit sa'kin para I-check ang temperature ko, I stood there silently. "You don't have a fever naman, are you sure you're fine?"

Tumango nalang ako bilang sagot and she looked convinced even though she looks worried at me.

"Before I could forget, may charity event si uli si Mommy at Daddy in two weeks? Punta kayo!"
