Chapter 28

"Again?"

Claine and I grew closer together after some time because I began opening chances with her. We often go on dates if we have the time after our classes or sometimes we stay inside and watch movies just like a regular couple, pero hindi ko alam kung ano kami.

"That's unfair!"

We are inside her condo and we're playing a game, it's wednesday night today at naisipan naming mag-stay nalang sa loob ng condo niya. I was too tired to go out anyways and gladly she understands.

"You won three times in a row," Pinaningkitan ko siya ng mata habang siya naman ay nagpipigil ng tawa. "Dinadaya mo ko, ano?"

Naglalaro kami ng mario cart 3 sa game console niya, this is the first time that I've played this kaya hindi ako maalam and this is also the third time na tinalo niya ako. Napahalukipkip nalang akong nakatingin sakanya ng masama dahil sa pagkatalo.

"I'm not, don't be a sore loser, baby. You're just bad at racing." She teased more, inirapan ko naman siya. "Let's play again, I'll let you win this time—"

Parehas kaming napatingin sa phone niyang nakapatong sa table, it was ringing which led confusion on my face 'nung tumayo siya at kuhanin 'yon para sagutin.

"Hello, Mom?" I heard her talk.

Tahimik lang ako sa katabi niya, I was just admiring her face structures while she was talking. I touched her face with the tip of my fingers, admiring her eyebrows to her nose.

Mukhang napansin niya naman ang ginagawa ko kaya humarap siya sa'kin kahit na may kausap siya, nakangiti siya habang nakatitig sa'kin.

"Yeah. I'm with Avery right now po," She chuckled lightly. "No, mom. We're just hanging out."

Nanlaki ang mata ko nang banggitin niya ang pangalan ko. Why the hell did she mentioned my name to her mom? Kahit na gusto kong magtanong ay nanahimik nalang ako.

"Opo, mommy. Tomorrow?" Narinig ko pa ang buntong hininga niya. "Okay. I love you."

The way she says 'I love you' to her Mother caught my attention. It made my heart melt, sobrang close niya talaga sa mga magulang niya and I adore her for that. She ended the call at tsaka siya humarap sa'kin, sumeryoso ang mukha niya and that's when my eyebrows furrowed. Is something wrong?

"What's wrong?" I broke the silence first.

"I'm going away." There's her answer. "Just for a week. Kailangan 'kong pumunta sa Italy, I'll visit my aunt there. Is that okay?"

"Yeah. That's totally fine, when are you leaving?"

"Tomorrow."

Her answer consumed silence between us, I don't know what to say to her. Should I say take care? Hindi ko alam, she's never away to me for that long and there's this uncomfortable feeling on my chest.

"Hey, it's just a week. Babalik rin ako." Natatawa niyang hinawakan ang pisnge ko.

"I know, I told you that it's okay." I tried not to react and I kept my poker face on.

"Talaga? E, bakit iiyak ka na yata?" Pagkatapos niyang sabihin 'yon ay agad siyang tumawa. "I'm coming back, it's not like doon na ako titira."

"Tch. I know, I'm just worried about you kasi baka madagdagan na naman ang mga babae mo." I tried to shrugged it off even if it bothers me.

"Uuwi ako sayo, hindi ako maghahanap ng iba."
