Chapter 6

The train stopped and Elyse put her things in her bag and picked up Patches' carrier. Everyone left the compartment but Elyse, Draco, and Daphne.

"Daphne, you wait outside, I need to talk to Elyse." Draco commanded.

"But I'm-" Daphne started.

"Just go. It won't take long." Draco said.

Daphne walked out and Draco turned to Elyse.

"Spill." Is all Draco said.

"Huh?" Elyse asked.

"Ugg, why are you so dumb? Tell me everything. What do you know about Wormtail and He-Who- Must- Not- Be- Named?" Draco said as he rolled his eyes.

"Well I-" Then Elyse stopped, "I never said anything about He-Who- Must- Not- Be- Named. How do you know about that?"

Elyse saw Draco's eyes go wide. Draco didn't answer, he just grabbed his things and left Elyse alone. Elyse followed him out.

"How do you know about that?" Elyse asked again trying to catch up to him.

"Never you mind." Draco said under his breath.

Elyse walked out of the train and saw Daphne waiting for her. "There you are! I was starting to get worried. Come on. Follow me, I'll take you to Hagrid." Daphne said as she pulled Elyse's hand.

The two walked over to a tall man. He had a big bushy beard and had a strong accent.

"Hello Hagrid. This is Elyse. I was told to bring her to you." Said Daphne.

"Ahh I know 'bout Elyse. Dumbledore, told meh all 'bout 'er. You go on now Daphne. Catch up with ther Slytherins." Hagrid said and Daphne left. "Elyse you'll ride with me you will. We'll get yuh sorted with them First Years." He looked and saw Elyse's arms full. "Put yer stuff down. It'll get brought in." Elyse put her things down and followed Hagrid.

The First Years were brought to the Black Lake and there were boats waiting along the shore. Hagrid told the First Years to each get in a boat, and told Elyse got in Hagrid's boat. Once everyone was in a boat, the boats magically started moving across the lake on their own. In the night sky, it looked like they were sailing over black paint.

After about 15 minutes the boats got to the other side of the Lake and everyone followed Hagrid up the hundreds of stairs to the front door. From there, a lady with a green robe and a black hat met up with the group and showed them to the door.

"Welcome to Hogwarts. I am Professor McGonagall and I am the Head of House of Gryffindor. When you pass through these doors you will join your classmates, but first you will get sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Your house is like your family. Any good will earn you house points and and bad will you will loose house points." Said Professor McGonagall.

Then McGonagall stepped down to Elyse and spoke directly at her. "Nothing will be different for you Ms. Colston." Then she looked at the group again. "When I call your name you will be sorted into your houses." She said back to the group.

Then she lead everyone through the doors and walked them up to the front. Elyse was shocked to see floating candles in the air. There was also a ceiling, but it looked like it was invisible. Then McGonagall started to sorting ceremony. 

First, the hat, which apparently sorts you into your house, sang a song, which Elyse did not pay much attention to. Then Professor McGonagall went up to the front and called out names.

"Active, April" 

She ended up being a Ravenclaw.

"Arlo, Edward"
